So just got a new vehicle yesterday and was wondering how many of you follow the manufacturers break in procedures. I have read it will increase performance around 3%, not a lot but over the life of the vehicle could add up. This is actually my 1st time where I am going to try and follow what they recommend. Pretty straight forward, keep it under 4000 RPM and no full throttle acceleration for 1200 miles, no towing for first 500 miles. Does anyone do this anymore?
I was thinking almost no one would but with the amount of miles I plan on putting on this truck I figured I might as well try it.
So you're saying I shouldn't have done donuts in the empty parking lot next to the dealership where I bought my vette?
Yeah, I somehow forgot that when I pulled out of the dealership on my test drive I punched it well over the 4000 RPMs but on the plus side the Mitsuibishi Mirage is an impressive 0-60 in 3.2 minutes
Now the mods can close this before any more disparaging remarks about me are added to my permanent record
