The defense has gone to **** ever since he LITERALLY went down with the injury. Does he mean THAT MUCH to this defense?
Dion Bailey was one of the better players today.... Our LBs are just slow and so vulnerable to the RB screens, I am shocked the Jags attempted so few of them after the initial one to Yeldon went well.
It's not Pryor, the first few weeks were an illusion. Were not that good. At least now, the SB talk will end.
The offenses we faced with Pyror: Browns Colts Fins Skins Offenses we have faced without him: Pats (2nd half) Raiders Jags Easy to see why. However, Pryor is crucial to the D. We need him back.
The answer to your question is no, this defense has been in loaf mode for the majority of the year, they are taking on the personality of the HC
He's physical in coverage against TEs, largely shut down Gronk until he got injured. He penetrates the pressure from our line and wall from our linebackers to get TFL. He's a much more sure tackler. It's no surprise that in the games where Pryor has been hurt Cromartie has let up more TDs than usual. And I don't buy the difference in offenses excuse. We were pretty much playing the same way against the Patriots with similar results to our previous games before Pryor went out.
Pryor has been a key towards the success of this defense but more importantly, when your defense spends a ton of time on the field, it hurts their effectiveness. It's been a few games since the run game has been effective. And when you become one dimensional, it can hurt other areas of the field.
I'm starting to think the same damn thing but the film rats would know better… Just a hunch, but something tells me we're back in form when he returns...
We have slow, plodding linebackers, a highly paid 2nd corner who is playing very poorly, and no consistent edge pass-rushing. We are a good, but no where near great, defense.
The problem is the dropoff from Pryor to Bailey is very large..and then the dropoff from Pryor to Miles is even bigger. The defense is good but depth has become a problem outside of the dline.
This whole Cro is baffling. He's averaging +/- a touchdown a game to the other team, he's "hurt" and his back up Williams, I believe, leads the team in INTs. Yet I'm pretty sure Cro will be starting next week. At the same Williams will likely continue to see times at safety where he's been horrible. Oh well, we are 5-3.
we have depth problems at safety and thats it. we've quality backup Linebackers despite struggling starters, great depth at Corner too. Safety?… no.
Well I really dont consider the depth at LB anything because the "backups" are usually better than the starters are. Pace at this point doesnt belong on an NFL roster and Coples name is only heard when its a penalty. The CB depth is obviously stellar. Maybe Milliner could play some safety when/if he ever gets back.
Pace had a really good gsme, even if you took his strip sack out of the equation, he had a great game. I'm not sure what your even talking about with that.
Not to me. Both of Bortles fumbles were much more his fault than any of our defensive players making a play. Bottom line is those plays don't happen against top QBs. Pace is done
The first few weeks, people looked at our roster and said, "We can't throw on those guys, we're going to have to run." BB looked at those game films and said, "We can't run on those guys, we're going to have to throw." Everybody we're going to face from that point on is going to agree with him. Everybody except Rex--Rex loves him some run and hates him some throw, wins be damned.
