Fuck 3rd down....how about 2nd down and you waste 35 secs. just to throw, well the pass to Keller was on 2nd and that was tough. Why not just run right back to the line of scrimmage and just hike it and run it with Greene again? Pretty simple, no? You'd still have 2 downs after that.
Those 2 plays will be in my mind for atleast a month then will pop up randomly once in a while but im still so sad about those plays, how can shotty walk around with his head up?
I think you guys are missing the big picture on that drive. Sanchez was trying to run a hurry up offense and the coaches couldn't get him the plays on time. I don't know what the hell was happening on the sideline but if Sanchez wasn't running half way across the field to get each call we would have scored on that drive. Regardless if we run or pass, the defense had too much time to prepare for it.
We needed to run. Get our powerback in their and get the TD. You get 3 shots. 3 strikes and your out.
You run it there no question. Even if you don't get the TD, with our line you will get closer to the end zone. Close enough that a QB sneak is in play. Unreal that we decided to throw there.
Seriously. Way to make Shonn Greene into a non-factor in this game. I hate Schotty more than ever after this shit show.
What makes it even worse is that it comes after a 4th quarter drive where the Jets showed absolutely no urgency when they are down two scores. Jets were running 35-45 seconds off the clock every play like they had the lead and were trying to run the clock down instead of trying to score quickly and get the ball back for another score. Complaints about the headsets going down are hollow, Jets need to have a plan for a two minute offense that Sanchez can execute quickly with minimal input from the sidelines if need be. If the Jets don't burn so much time on that last drive Pittsburgh has to do more then just get a couple of first downs to end the game.
Tough to watch that play but if it panned out we'd be calling him a genius like after the Pats game - just saying.
