Sorry if this was already posted, didn't see it anywhere:

The Jets made at least some of their final cuts on Friday, though they're not announcing any of them until Saturday afternoon when Rex Ryan has a conference call with reporters.

An inside source has told The Post of several of the players who were told on Friday they were cut. Tight end Kareem Brown, fullback Jehuu Caulcrick and tackle Stanley Daniels were among the group. Others believed to be cut included receiver Britt Davis, guard Ryan McKee, tight end Kevin Brock from Rutgers, running back Anthony Kimble, tight end Jack Simmons, who had a dropped TD pass Thursday and receiver Marcus Henry

The Jets are required to be down to the 53-player limit by 6 p.m. Saturday.

As of Friday night it's believed that running back Danny Woodhead, who rushed for 158 yards and two TDs in Thursday night's preseason finale, was still on the roster. The Jets' dilemma is if they try to keep Woodhead on the practice squad surely another NFL team will sign him to their 53-man roster.

As one Jets player said, Rex Ryan "told the team more moves would be made to make our team better.''

Among those moves is something at punter, where the Jets were awaiting other teams' final cuts so they can replace inconsistet Reggie Hodges with an upgrade. The Jets have had their eye on Jacksonville punter Josh Podlesh, who might be cut in favor of Steven Weatherford.

If Caulcrick indeed gets cut, it means Woodhead is likely on the roster and Caulcrick is headed to the PS for another season. I'd have to imagine the Jets are watching Trapasso as well, but Adam Podlesh would be a big plus to the punting game.

EDIT: That name didn't sound right. I remember Jacksonville taking that kid in the draft a couple of years ago. He's Adam Podlesh, not Josh. I know he's a punter, but you'd think Fatzarro would be able to get his name right.

yeah thats exactly what i was thinking. if caulcrick got cut woodhead is in. it was going to be one or the other. bc they werent going to keep 6 backs and now they have 5 which is about right. if they cut both they would only have 4 and thats too little. they wouldnt cut caulcrick and woodhead to pick up an outside back

Well, if it's posted already by Cannizarro, it's probably the truth, so if Caulcrick is gone, my guess is that Woodhead is on the team as well. However, there could be other surprises, we'll have to wait and see.

Caulrick is more of a fullback no? If Richardson gets hurt we no longer have a fullback.

greene is big enough to take the role of fullback. and you can always use a TE as a fullback. didnt we do that like 2 years ago?

I suppose if Richardson gets hurt, Caulcrick gets elevated to the active roster. They must figure he'll easily clear waivers and that it's not worth it to have him on the active roster to finish out a game if something happens to Richardson. Some people have suggested Shonn Greene can fill in through the end of a game.

I don't see how you can let Woodhead go after everything he showed this preseason...

Yeah, I don't buy the "use one of our converted TEs at FB" routine. We have a couple of quick backs now for that backfield rotation. I'm sure as hell not making some slow ass converted lineman their lead blocker.

It's pretty standard for a team to keep only one fullback. Plus, if Caulrick is on the PS, then promoting him won't be a problem.

That's ok , we have a 5'7 smurf RB who ran for 150+ yards against 3rd stringers - no worry . We'll just move a TE or OL to rb so that we can keep a Rudy feel good story.

I completely agree. I have no illusions that this guy becomes the next Chrebet, having said that, the guy did pretty much everything he possibly could to make the team. The RB position deals with major collisions on almost every single play, I don't see the harm in having him around if god forbid something happens to Jones or Washington. Heck, Greene has already been nicked up and the season hasn't even started...

I do , when you need depth at TE, OL and even DL . Remember Pace is gone 4 games and we're missing Ellis for game 1. Keeping Woodhead at a position we have good depth means we suffer elsewhere.

While I agree that we could use depth elsewhere, the spot was either going to him or Caulcrick. I'm just glad they didn't keep both.

As far as Pace and Ellis, we get a replacement member of the roster during their suspensions. That should have no bearing on the decision.

The fact of the matter is that Woodhead has looked better than Green through the preseason. They've both played against second and third stringers.

I think both jehuu and Danny would get claimed off the pr. It sucks because we will need a fb when Richardson is gone and woodhead is pretty much depth for Leon. Maybe we need to just keep 2 TEs on the 53 man and use Hunter in a pinch.

I still think taking Greene over Gilbert was a bad move by this franchise that typically does what we want them to do.

Hopefully Greene ends up being a great RB for us but honestly our DE depth is much worse than our RB depth

what say you next year when Jones is gone and all we have is Leon as far as proven commodities go?

i agree our DE depth is pretty sad, I think Pitouitua will step up actually I love what I've seen from him.

i think its too early to say anything. Gilbert or Greene hasnt proven anything when it matters yet nor have they had the chance.

and with Rex as our HC, i have faith that Rex will put his stamp on the next draft by bolstering the front 7

I pray to god Tanny doesn't trade away all our picks. I'd like to have a draft wherein we actually have 7 picks through 7 rounds. That would be simply incredible.

i think this is the year you finally see that. although he likes to make moves to get what he sees fit. so if we traded up our down with those 7 picks, that wouldnt surprise me.
