Its amazing how adding a stud NT, Pass rusher, and CB can transform the worst defense in the NFL into a top 3 defense that is completely dominating the best team in football.

Follow the Giants model and sign some young studs in their prime to big contracts and hope the pieces come together. Building through the draft doesn't work for franchises like the Jets who don't know how to pick players.

Jets gave big money to the wrong D lineman. Should have let Mo walk and kept Snacks. PFF had Snacks graded out as one of the best linemen in the game over the past 3 seasons.

Yeah we need to already have a Pro-Bowl calibre cornerback and 1x first team All-Pro defensive end on the other side. Oh and add the hopefully emergence of a second year strong safety in contention for DPOY.

The three signings certainly helped the defense a ton, but they're not doing it all by themselves.

They also drafted a corner that's better than Dee Milliner.

Giants defense is ranked 18, behind the Jets. Janoris Jenkins is good, but they overpaid Snacks and Vernon.

And everyone calm down with Wilkerson. There wasn't a Jets fan on this board that didn't want him inked to a long term deal. and for good reason, he was one of the best defensive lineman in the NFL the past 3 seasons. He's having a down year, of course, but I think its partly contributed to his leg injury he suffered late last year. We'll have to see how he performs next year to make an accurate judgement on if it was the right deal to make. 27 year old players who have a track record of being great don't just get bad over night unless there's an injury involved. It's not like he had 1 good year out of 5 right before the contract expired and then we signed him to a long term deal.

If Sheldon wasn't such a stupid nutcase I wouldn't have minded trading Mo to begin with and going forward with Sheldon and Williams at end, but because Sheldon IS a stupid nutcase I was fine with bringing back the 'safe' option. Who knew Mo was a dog, well other than that one Bills offensive lineman who called him out for it in some clip a couple years ago.

You're incredibly dense. That's the point. They have tons of great pieces on that defense. Those three guys they signed haven't been the end all be in the defensive turn around.

They matchup well with the Cowboys...And I guess you missed last season when we had a good defense due to free agent signings. We should have never let Damon Harrison walk....whats the fucking point of developing a stud undrafted d linemen just to let him walk.Good teams dont let that happen and overpay washed up vets like Revis and Fitzpatrick

I remember people saying that about us last year, proving that short term fixes are exactly that.
