There are 3 hockey teams in the metro area and I'm fairly sure the Rangers won't be bullshit material moving forward. :)

Isles fan here. I would love a hockey forum. For this year I just hope their is hockey. Even though the NFL is taking a financial hit playing with no fans/small crowds they can still survive because of the TV money. If no fans are allowed it will be very tough for the NHL to have a season as they depend on fans buying tickets to turn a profit.

The Rangers, Islanders and NHL threads usually get a pretty good amount of discussions and posts each season. I'm not sure if it is as much as the MLB, but it feels like it. Always fun talking hockey with you guys!

This sounds like the best plan. They can get special approvals for the playoffs once we get there. Maybe have all the games in a couple of venues close to the border until no American or Canadian teams remain. Maybe have the entire playoff structure in a couple of large venues elsewhere with a bubble to protect the players and fans.

The dinosaur in the room is going to be how the NHL will manage to remain profitable without being able to sellout the house.
