As horrible as Sunday's loss was to watch, what made it even worse was seeing the Jets once again rocking those Godawful throwback uniforms. Is it just me or have we worn them for at least half of the games so far? I don't remember how many games it was supposed to be this season with the anniversary thing and all, but I am so utterly sick of seeing the Jets wear the Titans crap. Wasn't it only supposed to be for a couple of games? I know from the many other threads on this topic that people are split on this, but it bothered me more yesterday than it has yet - especially being at home. So forgive me for rehashing a well worn topic, but it really pissed me off to see those uniforms on Sunday. Can we start a petition or something to finally kill this nonsense?
I think the deal was for the Jets to wear them for 4 games this season, and I'm pretty sure they have already won them for 4 games - Titans, Pats, Oakland and Phins.
Its supposed to be the 50th aniversary legacy collection uniforms...But whats funny, in the commercial they show the Joe Namath green and white, not this Titan Bullshit!!!!
In the bigger picture, probably not, but you have to admit that in a league where teams change players like most people change socks, the uniforms do embody something meaningful.
Not only that.... but they are GOD AWFUL UGLY!!!!!! they remind me of the rams old uni, when they played in L.A
I think that the damage has really been done with these things. We'll never see a green stadium again, we're doomed to see Titans gear at every home game for a long, long while. Maybe it's just me, but it just seems so much like the Jets thing to have their image confused by introducing these alternate colors. Screw the Titans stuff, throwback to the 90s Unis once a year and call it a day.
If the Jets win a Super Bowl (ha) I would put money down that they permanently change colors to the mustard and blue.
Here, here. I'm so tired of these throw back jerseys every year. It's gotten way out of control. I can understand if they're celebrating an aniversary, but why do it all year long. One game in the middle of the year should be enough, jeesh.
We are now 5-2 while wearing the uniforms. But, you will get your wish at least for the remainder of the '09 season. Sunday was the third and final time they will be wearing those uniforms this season. Green & White for the final 8 games.
I think its kind of cool to bring em back once a year, but christ not 3 times a year, cant wait for the green and white again. The loss yesterday definitely made me want to get rid of them asap though.
