A lot of people on the board have been praising Leon and hoping that he gets the bulk of the carries over Thomas Jones. Well, for the first half of today's game against Cincy, Leon was the primary RB and our running game was hurting.

Was it Leon's fault? Does Leon have the chops to be a starter?

Today's game might have shed some light on those questions. I'm not sure what to make of it. But the reality is that, the more Leon is involved, the better the Jets play.

i think he should get around 11-14 touches a game in addition to KR and PR. i don't think he can be an effective every down back with this Jets team.

He's not an every down back. But he's one of the best 3rd down backs imo.

I think Leon is a guy who is very illusive, but he isn't a game breaker.

So being that small and not really being able to run away from people or over them means he can't start. To be brutally honest he isn't even a number 2 back.

Dude...Are you freaking kidding me? He's not a game breaker? I've followed this kid since he played for FSU...Leon is as close to a game breaker as you will ever see.

Not being able to run away from people? Are you insane? We all know he doesn't run over people...He's not that type of RB....But he cant run away from people? Wow.

    Not a #2 RB?

All in all... As of right now, he's not a feature back...Give him another year or two and watch out...This kid will be rushing for over 100+ every game

    Leon= Great KR/PR and a good 3rd down back.

Leon does NOT= an every down back.

Get over it Jets fans! TJ is the best we have.

Could he be any every down back? I think he has the potential to be, but I don't want him to be. Every down back + KR + PR = overkill. 10-15 touches a game would be good.

He definitely can be a full time starter. He is alot like Warrick Dunn and would be as effective as a feature back. he needs more touches whether it's carrying the ball or catching passes.

I think he can be down the road. He's only gotten bigger over the past two seasons, and he's gotten better between the tackles over them.

He's got the potential. His natural build just kinda makes it take a while. Eventually he'll fill out, and he'll be a fuckin monster then. Tiki style.

It doesn't matter if he starts or not, I don't think he will ever be the guy that carries the load but he needs to get more touches either way.

yeah, leon is too much shake and bake.

not enough downhill discipline to be an everydown back.

TJ looked good in the first game of the season, where he was obviously rested and now coming off a bye week he looks okay. Maybe they should give every other game to TJ and then Chatman.

Against one of the worst run D's in football. Excuse me if I don't start blowing him or thhe O-line over the 3.2 per carry we got today against the 29th run D in the NFL. He is a good starter, but it is a position that could easily be upgraded in the comming draft.

Leon is a decent change of pace back. I wish they would use him better out of the back field. Think reggie bush's role in the NO offense. I don;t think he is a full time, 20 carry a game, type though.
