Hear me out here. As I keep reading updates from "internal sources", it seems Cam Cameron is on top of the list for our new Offensive Coordinator. Woody and Rex seem to like him a lot and he seems to be the guy that just may get the job. I know many on here are worried or wouldn't like this move, but check this guy out. 2002-2006 Cameron served as Offensive Coordinator for the San Diego Chargers. In 2004, they scored a total of 446 points making them the 3rd highest in the NFL and the 3rd most in Chargers history. In 2005, they averaged 26.1 points per game, labeling them 5th in the NFL. In 2006, they scored a team record of 494 points in one season. 2008-2012 He was made Offensive Coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens. In his first year there, they scored 385 points, 11th in the NFL, and went 11-5. He also took them to the Conference Championship where they lost to Pittsburgh 13-6. From 2009-2012, he averaged 10th in the NFL in points per season, never finishing the season with below a 9-7 record. Now, check this out: Cam Cameron was an Offensive Coordinator for 10 full seasons in the NFL. In those years, he amassed a total of 100 victories with an average of 10 wins per season. While in San Diego, he helped them get to a 47-33 record and with the Ravens, a 53-24 record. In his career, he averaged better than a .600 winning percentage with a record of 100-57 (regular season). He is labeled one of the winningest coordinators in NFL history. The 2006 Chargers offense is 1 of 28 teams in NFL history to average 30+ points per game and is the 21st highest scoring offense in NFL history, 14th highest in the last 25 years. Pretty amazing!
I don't understand the hatred toward him. Granted, he is a terrible Head Coach, but his stats don't lie, nor does his resume.
Sorry, you can't use his experience with the Ravens as a positive. The Ravens weren't winning games because of their offense. The Ravens offense rides on the coat tails of their defense. Cam Cameron couldn't properly run the Ravens offense. I mean, when your best weapon by far is your running back, you don't pass a ton more than your rush.
Who said anything about GM? LOL He is being interviewed as OC and is the front runner. I assumed you knew that EDIT: I'm an idiot and put GM in the OP. I'll change it. Carry on haha
What does the win percentage have to do with how good he was as the OC? I'd much rather hear about points scored and other offensive stats ...
Sure, why not? But as a Jets fan, I think we're better off not referring to him as "the answer." Let's just stay small here. He'd be "the next guy."
Ask people in Baltimore how they feel about him... Countless times they lost games with their superstar RB inexplicably getting less than 10 carries. Cam Cameron sucks.
