He has been terrible lately. He was the f***ing man early in the season and he has completely disappeared. I know everyone is gonna cite those two sacks and try and prove me wrong, but we all know those were B.S sacks. And it's not that he's not blitzing either. He is getting wrecked by tackles. He has been absolutely incapable of beating a one on one matchup.
He, along with the rest of our LBs, has been completely marginalized as Kris Jenkins' play has diminished. It is really clear that NONE of those guys was as good as they looked early in the season, and unless Jenkins starts taking over games again, we're stuck with a very pedestrian group of LBs
He flat out beat Jason Peters, one of the best tackles in the league for one of those sacks. You are wrong, Calvin Pace is very good.
well two sacks today, plus one was a strip sack. Yes he hasnt been as dominant of late, then again name one defensive player outside of revis who has been the last 3 weeks? However, when rushing the passer today, all of our guys seemed to want to stay in their rush lanes, rather than actually get to the QB. they seemed more concerned with holding their lanes to stop losman running than actually sacking him. Something tells me this was sutton's call. He saw losman scramble twice on their first two drives including the TD score. he panicked and said "rush the lanes, not the QB" fits in nicely with his conservative playcalling self. Even past weeks, pace has been So-so. Still today he got 2 sacks without really trying against one of the best LT's in the NFL. Still think he sucks? oh well. no one will be confincing you otherwise.
Im so sick of these forums. Let me rephrase that, Im so sick of these BS threads that never stop popping up. What is the point of this thread when he had 2 sacks today?? Im going to go right now and make 15 new threads each one stating how a good player on our team sucks and is the worst player ever.
only 2 teams can do that in the 3-4... the Pats and the Steelers because of who they have on those lines.
He's not good but compared to some of the other pieces of shit we put on the field on defenses he's a star.
Dam if Calvin Pace sucks, I wonder how you feel about our other LB's. They need to get a better defensive coordinator, and all will be good. Watch the Steelers vs Ravens game, you can really appreciate the amount of work a good defensive coordinator puts in to his work. None of that lame Madden 2 man under bull sh*t all game. Use some stunts, bring 2 mlb's to blitz behind the DT, some overload zone blitz. Should be an exciting off-season, when I hear the name of the new offensive coordinator.

hmf nice argument. All I know is that Calvin Pace was getting WRECKED all game by peters. I would see him constantly blitzing and facing peters one on one and getting killed. He couldn't push him back he couldn't do ANYTHING to get to losman. The first sack was a complete bs. He didn't do anything except just ontop of losman after he was already down. I'm probably being harsh on him saying he sucks, he is our second best Lb (not saying much). I'm just tired of everyone having his schwang in their mouth. You can blame the coordinators all you want, i do it too. I think Sutton and Mangini and shit heads, but players need to beat one on one matchups. Pace was given one on one matchups all day and was killed.
Oh, I agree with you that he is very overrated on this board. (People on this board have been overrating our defensive talent for years - see my thread on Kerry Rhodes) But two things: 1) Peters is an excellent young offensive tackle. 2) Whether he is overrated on this board or not, he is still (arguably) our 3rd best player on defense. And while I don't think he is a pro-bowler, I also don't think he sucks. By the way, you wrote in your first post that "we all know" his 2 sacks today were "bullshit sacks". A) What the fuck does that even mean??? B) One was a strip sack and the other was on third down, i believe.
