John Dorsey ain't f'n around up in Cleveland. If you want to see an example of changing the culture, look no further.
It took Cris Carter leaving Phillly to become the player he could be. Gordon is not a thug or a bad person.Moreso a flaky pothead who is unreliable. If the jets were to pass i completely understand..but considering folllowing A. He’d be low risk/high reward given the depth at WR-Hed have to earn his keep behind Quincy/Robbie/Kearse/Pryor B. Hes absolutely perfect for Darnold as a guy who can box out defenders coming back to the football on rolll outs as well as on deep patterns over the top.He & Enunwa on the same side is frightening C. As others have eluded,it keeps him away from any one of the Jets rivals..namely the cheats D. Chris johnson talked about being aggressive & this is an aggressive move. This Would be a move that could truly catapult the team. Teams w a solid foundation of leadership can handle a diva or 2.Look at the cheats w Corey Dillion,Moss etc. Are they a good teammate, are they manageable & does their play justify the hassle? The jets find themselves w very good leadership & perhaps a need for someone to elevate them like Gordon would. Compared to Leveon or Mack(Compensation wise) this is a much more modest risk
Was about to question why the Jets would want him, figuring it was again drug related but this , it seems, is different. He reportedly showed up late to practice and injured his hammy at a photo shoot. After all he has done you would think he would make sure nothing stopped his coming back.
Schefter on ESPN just said the Browns are trying to trade Gordon. A case of bud light for another victory fridge in Dorsey's office ought to do it.
This is the type of talent the Pats add for next to nothing then he turns back into a beast. His contract isn't terrible, he won't cost much to get. Low risk-high reward type of deal. The Browns are such a Black Hole of a organization they're almost hopeless it seems. I don't think he's a fit for the Jets because I think the Jets are absolutely loaded at the position right now but for a team that's looking to contend this year that has a hole at WR why not take a shot? Patriots, Cowboys etc.
No thanks, is it too much to ask an adult nowadays to live up to their end of the bargain? A flaky pothead who is unreliable. That sounds like an adult who is not dealing with life in an adult manner, however wants to get paid for providing a service to the team that the team can’t be sure will be provided. Let someone else deal with the drama that Gordon brings to the team. It sucks the life out of a team when individuals like Gordon are allowed multiple chances and they don’t make good use of them. Move on!
I'll go against the grain, I think it'd be great if he could come here. As long as he can keep his crap together, Gordon is an elite receiver. Having that for Darnold would be huge.
I agree. It's worth the risk if the asking price isn't too high. We need more talent at receiver for sure.
I was pretty on board with the starting Tyrod no matter what week 1 idea, but I wouldn't blame them for making the move and time they do.
Reports say the Jets have done their due diligence on Josh Gordon. Reports are saying the Browns will trade him by the end of the day for decent compensation. His issues are well known and we all know it's a high risk vs high reward Would you make the trade???
