Taking a break from the mocks for a moment to really lament that the Jets didn't select this guy last year. Watching him the past two weeks and he is a true beast and would've helped solved their OLB woes for years to come. I like Wilkerson, but Reed was the pick that should've been made.They could've got a DE later in the draft (Klug).
Didn't Rex want him but the scouts said Mohammed was more talented? Also, isn't Reed 25? I think Reed would have helped the Jets a lot more this year, but Wilkerson long term may be the better player.
Wilkerson is 2 years younger than Reed. Wilkerson might turn out to be the more talented player but Reed plays a more impactful position... oh well, at least let's be happy we drafted a good player and not a bust.
I made mocks last year having us taken him. Didn't work out but i was high on him, Good player, would have been good in rex's D.
In hindsight having Reed selected in the last draft and possibly Upshaw in this draft would have been solid. However the Wilkerson pick should be fun to watch through the years.
Wilkerson played exceptional this year for the role he is in, hes not meant to be a pass rusher, he's here to eat up blocks and has done a damn good job of that. Hopefully we can get our hands on Mercilus this year.
