Brodie Croyle looks like a good option

I don't know how you guys feel, but I like Croyle. Considering Penny is all but gone, it's time to rebuild, and I think this kid might be a really good one.

I didn't get to see too much of him in the Senior Bowl, but from what I hear he played pretty well. I was just watching the College Football All-Staar Challenge on ESPN, and he won the distance challenge by A LOT. Young couldn't even keep the ball in bounds.

Now the routes challenge is going on. I'll post again after it.

i definately do not want croyle. If were taking a qb, imo it has to be leinart, young or cutler and im not even sure about cutler or young

Young threw some crappy throws to Deangelo Williams, who ran like crap himself. Moss was blazing fast. Coyle was right on the mark, and Vernon Davis caught really well and fast from him.

i put no credibility at all on that particular challenge. overall out of those 4, i thought olsen looked the best overall, but that doesnt mean much

I am not convinced of Leinhart at all. And I can confidently say I think Young will not be a great NFL QB. He will be better than Vick, but he won't be much different. I say let Texas enjoy him.

I do still like Cutler, and I wouldn't be disappointed to see the Jets go that way.

It was fun to watch but it's just for fun. Vince's passes went a mile but how can we catch passes like his or Croyle's if we can't get that far down the field before the ball hits the ground? I'ts Vince or whoever after him, as far as I'm concerned.

I don't put a lot of weight on these competitions either, but they can show you some of the raw skills these guys have. Of course, it has no bearing on their in-game ability, but I like to see the kinds of talent these guys have before the draft.

He has had some SERIOUS knee injuries. He can be good, but I would rather have Cutler.

Interesting, I wasn't aware of that Penny. Thanks for the info. That factor has to play into the plan. It looks like we are dumping Mawae and Kendall now too, so previous health is going to be important for our next QB.

This Gostkowski kid can kick a ball. But of course we took Nuge last year.

Croyle wears #12, played at Alabama, and has bad knees...

    It's a sign.

Yes we did take him last year. It's good to know we'll have a great kicker for a long time.

I never got down on Nuge...a SHIT TON of people were calling him a bust after the first few games...

He got hot near the end and I think he will be a good one too...

Mike Westhoff said he is going to hit those weights so he has plenty of room to improve

We don't know for a fact we will be in position to take a either one of those guys next year. We are pretty much in a good spot for Jay Cutler and this is the guy that has Mangini all excited. I don't see Quinn in green...

I say we draft Coyle at #4 and put him behind an offensive line consisting of

    Cavka Moore Goodwin King Jones

A young QB behind a young OL. What can go wrong?

Nobody insinuated that Brodie would start day one.

I would love Quinn but he has the possibility of going first overall next year and I really do not think we will be 1-15 next year nor do I want us to be, In a perfect world trade down, get some linemen this year, Giles, McNeill, Mangold, and Calhoun and then we could grab Quinn next year but I highly doubt that

Croyle would be a 2nd or 3rd rounder. I would think that Croyle would be an option you would like, seeing as you can draft an offensive lineman in round 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and every comp pick we'll get.
