First off I apologize for making a so called " Sign this beast thread" but I think Robiskie is someone who the Jets should look at. Currently at the 4th WR slot we have Turner, who is decent but is very mixed in his abilities of what he can and cannot do. Robiskie would be an excellent run blocking wide out as well as make some nice catches in traffic. He recently was waived by the Browns and would be worth a look in my personal opinion.

In your own opinion is he worth a shot to bring in? Or is he just another failed experiment?

The Jets need a small scrappy white guy to replace McKnight. Sorry but Robiskie just doesn't qualify.

I think he would be an upgrade over Turner and would not be against giving him a shot. The fact he failed in Cleveland is pretty worrying though...

How do you see that happening? He had 39 catches in 2.5 seasons. He barely edged out Brad Smtih's total at that point in his career, and Robiskie's only job is to play WR.

We already have a run-blocker in Turner and we don't throw out of 4WR sets enough to warrant a move. Yes, we need depth at WR. No, we're not going to solve that problem with guys who failed to make the Browns' roster.

He did alot of good things last year in Cleveland, production wise.

I would bring this guy in, but this far into the season I dunno if he could bring anything else besides blocking.

The guy is a better blocker than Turner... and a better STer as well. Turner might be the better WR project but the guy has shown nothing so far...

I was more so looking at his college production and a few games I saw him in the NFL, yeah I know it's not the most accurate analysis, but I honestly believe given another shot he could be nice off the bench. He is a better blocker than Turner is and fits this offense very well.

My honest opinion is he will go too the Redskins or the Falcons but I would not dissapprove if picked up by the Jets.

And what has Robiskie shown aside from not being able to finish out the season on a team with much bigger WR issues than the Jets? Great logic.

Robiskie has shown he is a better blocker and a better ST player. Great reading...

PS Also, Robiskie has caught 441 yds in 3 yrs... Turner 26. I know both numbers suck, but one sucks way more.

You're right. Cut a guy who knows the playbook for marginally better run blocking at the WR position midway through the season. Championship!

What assures you Turner knows the playbook so well? Not saying he doesn't but just because he's been here doesn't automatically mean he knows the playbook.

Also both would see the field only for a couple of plays + special teams... not much learning involved.

Because if he wasn't able to learn the playbook than he probably wouldn't have stayed with the team for this long but, hey, that's only assuming we aren't desperate for a 4th WR after week 8.
So in this case either the difference is negligible or you're assuming that a few plays per game we're going to see Greene, Tomlinson or McKnight bust longer runs in 4WR sets because of the 4th WR?

If this was the offseason, fine bring him in and let him battle Turner for the job. However, it's the middle of the season and the team is starting to jell now that there is continuity on the offense. Our ST are fine and the run game is starting to pick up. Why bother making a change for what would likely only account for a moderate improvement if any? Turner is good at what he does and ST is producing. No need for him.

I'm not saying bringing Robiskie in is what makes the Jets go from playoff team to SB team... however I feel like it would be a small upgrade.

You're saying "if it ain't broken why fix it" and I get it... I'm saying "if it's not going to shock the whole team why not make even a marginal improvement". Two different ways of going at things and both make sense...

At this point let's bring in Wallace Wright. Guy was a hcek of a ST and run blocker and he knows the playbook having been with the Jets a while!

Actually, I'm saying that Brian Robiskie would be as useful to the Jets under contract as a run blocking WR as he would be working at an Exxon station.

I don't really know anything about the guy but I just don't see why they would bother to make a move for a #4 WR at this point in the season. Being that Turner rarely sees the field and McKnight has shown promise lining up as a receiver it just doesn't seem necessary.
