Brian Dawkins is an unrestricted free agent. He's in his mid 30's, but it doesn't look like his play has diminished at all. We need a safety opposite Kerry Rhodes.

    Do we pursue Brian Dawkins?

Good grief. No. No cap space. Did anyone watch the 2007 offseason? Lots of $$$ spent. Teams do that once every 10 years.

Yes. He's all heart. He isn't a cancer. He plays tough and makes recievers think. Only Troy Polumalu makes recievers think as much as Dawkins. Get him if we can.

No way this guy leaves philly. Seems to really like playing there and their secondary has been pretty damn good for a few years now. Unless he gets some kind of ridiculous offer somewhere else my guess is he finishes his career there.

Yes, sign him. The Jets need to sign every player that's ever played the games that's still got something less. Sign them all!

Are you saying you want the Jets to pickup a player that isn't CHAMPIONSHIP caliber?

Dawkins is old and declining. The Eagles can have him.

I am saying pick up anyone that will upgrade the team which would at least in theory get us closer to the SB. In Dawkins case he would appear to be at least slighty better then any of the deadwood we presently have on the team

Get the team closer to a Super Bowl when? Next year? So you want to get up a bunch of over the hill guys just because they might be slightly better than what you have now? Boy, I thought you knew better than that.

Hasn't it been said that Brian Dawkins is possibly retiring after this season?

If he were on the Jets you would want to cut him.

Similar things were said about Steve Atwater before we signed him and that didn't go very well.

I wish people would realize that we're not going to be able to spend like we did last offseason. So yes there are alot of big name FA this year, but I dont see us signing anyone with a Big Name. I belive we're only like $4.5 million under the cap, I think if Farve leaves we have more. I'm just sick of the wishlist posting

We're more than $8 million in the red right now.

He's a great player...a hall of famer with a Super Bowl win...and a philly player through and through.

Let's find our own Dawkins. Let's BUILD a champion. Young pieces, designed to grow and get stronger with age, not weaken.
