Yeah, this is nice to win, but it's not like it wasn't expected. No one put up the points, nor the stats, that Favre did. It was a landslide. You can't really top 6 td's. After all, through 4 weeks, favre apparently is the best QB in the NFL on a new team, going by the numbers. I must say, not even I expected that so soon. I figured midway point he would be talks for the afc probowl, but he is almost a shoe in for that now.
i'd say he is the best QB in the NFL and he has changed the culture in the organization in 2 months. That goes to show how truly iconic Favre really is.
Maybe it was the cheese yellow on those ugly ass Titans uniforms. maybe we should run them for the rest of the year.
Pennington won it in 06 when he threw for 300 yards and 2 TDs... it can happen with anyone... and i'm not a Chad-deepthroater. I'm just stating facts. This is not a post that will spark a Chad vs Brett argument either.
Nice little weekly awards but I just want to win the game each week and find the Jets in the playoffs. The QB for our co-tenant didn't win too many awards but has some wonderful jewlery to show for winning games each week.
Right now Ted Thompson is looking like a big idiot and knowing Packer fans they will not be forgiving him anytime soon. I find it ironic that the day Brett Favre throws a career high 6 TD passes Packer fans have their fears of Rodgers getting injured come true. After 4 games Favre looks like the guy who is going to lead his team to the playoffs although the Pack may get there by default.
well he had a few years where he wasn't playing as well because of injuries. gnarly elbow tendinitis really brought him down and he fumbled a lot while playing with a broken thumb. still, most QBs couldn't even play in those conditions, much less play average or even above.
I was, I guess still am, a Packer fan since I was like 10 years old (23 years). I started watching the Packers with my Dad when Majowski was behind center. Never in my life did I think that I'd be rooting against my team... but I am. Yes, I'm vindictive. So be it, call me a fairweather fan, or whatever. I guess I was more of a Favre fan than a Packer fan. I was fully prepared to cheer on A-Rod (I shouldn't use that nickname, that's a player on the Yankees), but after what TT did... I hope the Pack finishes 5-11, so TT gets fired. TT not only ran the face of the franchise out of town with the lame ph***ing excuse "we've moved on" to cover for his real agenda (his stamp on the team), but then he goes into the season with not just 1 rookie QB, but 3 rookie QBs (a combined 0 NFL starts and 3 years of bench experience). Yeah, this is a rant; a big "I told you so" and "I knew it, I knew, I knew it". In July, I spent a lot of time on Packer forums and was surprised how many Packer fans turned on Favre and drank the "A-Rod is better than Favre" koolaid. Like a bitter divorce, a lot of fans felt like they had to choose. I just can't be both a Packer fan and Favre fan knowning that if the Packers do well with A-Rod that TT gets all of the glory. On the bright side, I'm so glad Favre went to the Jets and not Tampa. I've always hated the Patriots and never rooted against the Jets, even though they weren't my main team. The Jets are a team that has a lot of tradition, a loyal fan base, and respects its legends (Joe Namath). The Jets have had a long draught (much like the Packers of the 80s) and deserve a SB. It's exciting to be a new Jets fan. At 12 TDs for the year, Favre isn't looking like a QB on a new team (knock on wood). Wouldn't it be sweet if Favre take MVP in his 18th NFL season.
i dont think you should feel like a traitor. You said you were ready to move on (so was I) but I feel like the Pack (behind TT) betrayed me. It's hard to root for a team that you liked so much for so many years that treated all of us die-hard fans wrong.
