In an interview last night Brett was asked about not starting a game if he was injured and ruining his streak. Brett said he told Mangina and MT last year about his bicep and asked to be sidelined and let Clemens play. According to Brett they told him no and refused to start Clemens and told Brett he's playing. Brett's now throwing the Jets under the bus after everything else, what a punk.
Sounds to me like Brett tried to throw the Jets under the bus, but his diminished arm strength led to an interception and good field position for his opponents.
Talk about a liar. You just read it and you know it is total garbage. If Favre manned-up and said I'm sitting, then Clemens or Ratty for that matter would have been in. The only thing that may save Favre this year is Adrian Peterson.
I dislike both Favre and Mangini. Mangini is an a&^hole and favre is a primadonna, I wouldn't be surprised either way
You have changed the wording slightly. This was already posted in the NFL forum with a link to the actual article.
It really isn't his job to bench himself. Mangini and Schotty knew he was playing injured and didn't make any adjustments so it's their fault at least as much as it is Favre's.
Seems the Jets should have more than a "no comment" to this when they were asked last night about it.
Mangina maybe many things but he wouldn't put a QB with a injured throwing arm on the field. Especially after those games were it was blatantly obvious. The only other explanation would be if they were getting direction from Big Woody Johnson. Woody Johnson, lol.
NEWS FLASH - THIS JUST IN!!! FAVRE THROWS JETS UNDER BUS - AND JETS FANS SURPRISED!!! NEWS AT 11. It's Brett Favre people... he's a one man media circus.
LOL- But that wasn't a injury that was Chad being Chad. Are you one of those Favre freaks? Just go read the article, I think it's a BS.
I think Brett owes us, without the Jets he might not have ever reached his precious Vikings. Mike Tannenbaum treated this guy like gold, he has no reason to make these remarks, Favre is a selfrighteous prick, but I guess that's obvious.
Mangini didn't deny it last night when asked about it. All he would say was that he had reports on every player on a daily basis and then something about losing as a team and winning as a team..usual Mangini speak.
So maybe the big Wood man told him to start him. It is my opinion that Mangina would not have played Favre given the choice. During some interviews Mangina seemed like he didn't want Favre at all.
Whatever happened, that idiot Mangini should have benched Favre once the injury happened. At least we would have known what Clemens was like at the helm of a good team.
