Haven't seen this posted-- I don't know what the time frame is, or what the chances are of him actually going to jail, but sucks regardless http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2009/10/braylon_edwards_charged_with_a.html
probably be dropped, considering there were reports it wasn't him that threw the punch - but then again that could be false info. let's see what goes on with it. i'd like to see him suspended late in the season.
His arraignment hearing is scheduled for Nov. 17th in courtroon 3C at the Justice Center. So that's in a few weeks. Might get a game suspension late in the season if convicted. I don't think he'll see any jail time
Pro football talk- "New York Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards was charged with misdemeanor assault today in connection with an incident outside a Cleveland nightclub, the Cleveland Plain Dealer is reporting. The charges stem from an accusation that Edwards punched a friend of Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James. The incident took place shortly before Edwards was traded to the Jets from the Cleveland Browns. The Plain Dealer reports that Edwards faces a sentence of up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine if he's convicted of misdemeanor convicted. Edwards had 10 catches for 139 yards in four games with the Browns. He has nine catches for 118 yards in three games with the Jets" http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/10/26/braylon-edwards-charged-with-assault/
If the max possible sentence is 6 months, theres no chance he misses a game. Worst case, worst worse case scenario is he pleads and gets a month or two and does it in the offseason. Much more likely that he pays a fine and forgets it ever happened.
Braylon Edwards to face chargers...#$*%! http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4597316 meant to say charges, ha my bad
I read it on another thread. But it's only a misdemeanor and in my opinion he might miss a game or two from suspension at most.
1 catch, 1 drop. In case you missed it, we rushed for over 300 yards and hung up 38 on Joakland. Again, he's being charged with a misdemeanor. I doubt this will amount to anything -- 1 game at the most. WOW!
That game is going to be full of penalties. Just having to have enough men on the line will bog that game down.
