Here we go, I’m going to get flamed for this but I stand my ground. Yes, I understand Edwards drops many passes but there is a lot to like about this guy. #1-His attitude has done a complete 180 and he hustles hard the whole game. He throws blocks for the run attack and always does his best to get open even if he knows it’s a run play. The guy plays like he loves the team and I love him for it. #2-Size and strength that gives him yards after the catch. If he has one defender on him he will almost always break the tackle and get some extra yards. He has the physical talent to jump up and make some spectacular catches in coverage. I know that once he and Sanchez have a full training camp together he will be more reliable with his catches. In conclusion, thank you Braylon for playing 110% and just know that this Jets fan is noticing your hustle and positive attitude.

Only time will tell because after a certain amount of time the ugly face pulls its head from out of the sand again. Time and time again a player goes to another team and is quiet for the moment then they just revert back to there old ways.
I don't think their should be any hesitation in resigning Edwards. He has displayed a great attitude since coming on,he gives us a big play element we have been missing, and he seems to have really good rapport w/ Sanchez despite his short time here. There aren't many better Wr's in this league, and I'll take his occassionabl dropped pass for the big time play ability he possesses. the more time he spends w/ Sanchez/Keller/Cotchery...the better he and this offense is gonna get.
I don't understand all the hate and trade talk surrounding this guy. He's VERY young and will mature into a top WR, IMO. I hated seeing him and Sanchez in that early video, hanging around with Kerry Rhodes, who obviously was giving them both very bad advice: "We chill at practice, man." I hope like hell he's not hanging with Rhodes anymore. All the rest will take care of itself. Next season, when Sanchez gets it together (hopefully), everyone is going to see why this guy is on the team.
We need a Possesion receiver who is reliable and catches the ball in crunch situations.. We also need touchdowns when we are inside the 20 yard line. And i cant put total blame on Edwards but schotty running the ball 3 consecutive plays down there shows lack of confidence maybe even in himself
Edwards is playing like a warrior....but like it was mentioned in an earlier post...my fear is that once he gets paid....he'll soften up. The Jets need to take that chance, however.
I like Edwards and he shows signs of being a top tier receiver, but his hands need to be better if he wants a big pay day.
I agree with most of the guys that say with a full training camp to gel with Sanchez this guy is going to be pretty damn good for us.
He had a great catch yesterday, I don't get why everyone focuses on his drops. Yes he has them just like every receiver in the league, but he also has made some great catches too. Some catches that not many other could make. If we don't sign him to a big contract someone else will, he is a great athlete with size that has rare talent.
That's Jets fans for ya. He's done a good job since he's been here. Unfortunately, I just dont see the Jets winning at Indy, making winning out unlikely, and that is going to make making the playoffs that much more difficult. The %@#$ Miami games coming back to bite us in the arse.
None of the interviews I've seen have ever shown anything even close to an attitude. In fact, he loves playing here and it shows in his interviews. So I think his dropsies are nothing more than post-rookie lack of concentration for now and with more time and work, he'll be able to concentrate more on making the catch and realize everything after that is immaterial as long as he catches the ball first. A lot of the chemistry between Sanchez and Edwards was still developing this year. I look to next year as an unbelievable year for them both.
I also think Sanchez was unbelievably overwhelmed at the learning curve this year... still is to some degree. All the INTs, fumbles, etc., learning the system, Leon goes down, then the criticism on the sliding... all rookie stuff. It's no wonder he hasn't developed any chemistry with anyone really... Stuckey, Keller, Cotch, Edwards. But next year will show marked improvement, IMO. And Edwards will be a big part of that. When Sanchez gets a taste of what a guy like Edwards can do to open up the field for him (becoming a DB magnet and getting others open), you're going to see why we need this guy going forward.
i do love the attitude he has had since getting to NY. his downfield blocking for the run game has been excellent. the only thing i am worried about is how much of this attitude adjustment is because his contract is about to be up. if his attitude stays the same after the jets pay him (which they should) i think he could do some special things with sanchez. they still don't seem to be quite in rhythm with each other. they have had numerous near misses such as the 2 point conversion. on that play sanchez needs to get the ball to edwards a bit earlier and edwards still needs to hold onto the ball even if it was a bit late. give them the offseason and TC to get those little things worked out and we have all the pieces we need to have a top ten offense.
I'm pretty sure he's way, way down the list of drops this year, having been high on it each of the two previous seasons.
Why would we let him walk away? As we saw earlier in the season, it's not very easy to fill a no.1 reciever role. Keeping his receptions down (although not intentional I'm sure) will keep his price from going too high.
