Didn't see this posted. According to the Newark Star-Ledger, Braylon Edwards did not throw the punch that struck Cleveland nightclub promoter Edward Givens in their alleged dispute on Monday morning. A source with knowledge of the situation tells the Star-Ledger that a member of Edwards' entourage hit Givens. The Jets were well aware of Edwards' situation before trading for him on Wednesday, and GM Mike Tannenbaum is "convinced he's not the bad guy he has been painted as." If Edwards did not throw the punch, he shouldn't be in danger of any league-imposed discipline
Mike T. referred to this during an interview earlier today. Sounded like the FO had some kind of insight into the situation that no one else is/was aware of. If this is true, this makes the trade sit a lot better with me. Now go focus on catching the ball and learn the playbook Mr. Edwards.
Had to know that Tanny wouldnt have made this trade (gotten rid of stuckey) if Edwards was going to be suspended for some upcoming games.

Unfortunetly for us, I think the word "dropsies" is going to be used frequently on this board when talking about Edwards....now that the off-field issues argument has been snuffed out. I don't agree with it.....just bracing for impact.
Tanny had to know there was nothing to this. He has proved to be way too savy to do something stupid along these lines. Everything I'd heard of him sounded like he was a good guy (involved in quite a few charities) and now with this coming out he can go help us win a SB.

The closest thing to another infraction is the fact that he was with Stallworth the night he went Jack Daniels Andretti? If he gets in trouble for this punch - a one game suspension at the absolute worst. He's got a bad rep, not a bad rap sheet. He's going ot be F***in' awesome for us.
