it's been wondered aloud about here and there over the past 1.5 years... can we simply sign Berrios and jettison Crowder. nuthn AGAINTS Crowder. He's solid. For me it's a yes.
I wouldn't break the bank but he's definitely one of the guys I'd like us to re-sign to a reasonable deal. He's a solid return guy and good depth at WR.
He's not a break the bank kind of player but I would definitely prioritize keeping him. Multiple people said this guy didn't belong in the NFL in the offseason while they thought Mims would be a high performer, all Berrios has been is the most dependable player on the team while Mims is over there trying to figure out how to run a curl route.
Hes been great the whole year and even dating back to last year. Our best PR/KR since Leon Washington. I wouldn’t break the bank but he’s becoming one of the premiere ST guys… and now he’s slowly becoming a solid WR. I’d give him a few mil a year.

And there's something to be said - and vastly under-said - for signing and paying players who bust their ass despite adversity and the odds against them. The Jets could use all of these types of guys they can get.

Actually, I'm suggesting they DON'T so X on #1 He's had 1 solid game this year. Show me where that mistake is? Berrios Stats ftr, I'm a huge..HUGE believer in having an A+ ST Squad. But to even compare this guy to Leon Washington...c'mon man. and He has 875 Yards receiving......over 3 seasons I agree w/the consensus of resigning. Dude is legit and has a chip on his shoulder, how can one NOT like that but acting like he's consistently good is a big stretch and another ftr, I like the kid and want him here.
My comparison to Leon Washington has nothing to do with him as a receiver. We are second in the league in kick returns and there’s only one guy returning kicks outside of a random Tevin Coleman or Ty Johnson return. Has the highest yards per kick return average. He averages the second most yards per punt return. One of only 8 players with a kick returned for a TD this season. He’s a legit weapon on ST that is learning how to be an option on offense. Pay the man. Don’t overpay him, but pay him.
