Mets are the Fox game on Saturday, so I guess this would become a day/night doubleheader on Sunday. On the positive side, Howie Rose will be calling the game for Fox on Saturday.
12 home games tonight not on the west coast, and 2 are postponed and 5 are delayed. I know summer's over, but it's not December!
Well I guess Billy Wagner said he threw his last pitch for the Mets..... I guess this means the Mets will be pursuing K-Rod in the offseason.
if it gets rained out they just hold it off till the end of the year and play it if necessary. this schedule is bad enough they really can't expect the mets to play 17 games in 16 days with 0 off days.
^ Just saw that. Well, there's only one way you'd get a "real" doubleheader nowadays, and that's because Fox wasn't going to move their game nohow. Maybe the Mets can't play a night game on Sunday because it's the last game of the homestand and they play the next night?
santana looking like crap against an absolutely dreadful braves lineup. looking like the 3rd straight awful start from a good mets starter.
Easley makes it 1-0, but just misses the double. Still bases loaded none out. Big at bat for Schneider.
DP, but it's probably better than a K (Howie has it backwards, I think - with Santana up next, I think Hampton would have preferred a K to a DP). 2-0.
I think it has more to do with the fact the game wouldn't be televised because ESPN has exclusive rights.
as much as i like castro's bat it's probably time for the mets to say adios to him this offseason not much point to a backup/platoon catcher that is always injured. schneider has a .465 OPS against lefties this year and playing him every day is really killing the mets.
It was unfortunate, but nothing to complain about. I did sit in my seat for 45 minutes. More importantly, I exchanged my 5 tickets from the June 14 rainout. I'm now going to the bastard Cubs game on September 24. It's amazing, really. I went to my first Mets game on Labor Day 1986. I saw "Big Ass" Sid Fernandez strike out 14 Giants in a Mets win. I have gone to Shea Stadium at least once every year except for four years. I never had a problem with rain until this year. 2008- two trips to Shea Stadium, two rainouts, both times the following day was a straight doubleheader
