Zachs also won twice (week 4 and 13) and moore has won once. thats 3 different jet rookies who won it
carter hasn't but he's had some deserving games for sure. like week 8 with 172 total yards 2 TDs and 9 catches

I like that Jets rookies are getting recognition that they definitely deserve but this award is extremely empty. The good news is we have guys even nominated let alone winning. I’m about as down as anyone on Joe Douglas… Well maybe not anyone considering the stuff I read here… But this could be one of those draft classes that turns around a franchise.

I'm very comfortable with having Hall and Echols pencilled in as starters next year, along with Guidry and MC2 in dime and nickel packages. For what was expected to be a big liability has proved far from the weak spot of the D. The group needs a veteran of some sort though through FA, even if just a back up and the safeties definitely need sorting. Not to mention the run D and pass rush.

I can forgive Douglas for having a bad first draft class if subsequent hauls resemble this year's.

I’ve been saying this all along. I can’t stand looking at mock drafts and seeing Stingley as the Jets choice at #4 or wherever they land. Not only does he seem to get the injury bug - there are bigger holes to fill. How about EDGE? How about OL? Even trading down and taking a LB like Dean out of GA - the best defense in the NCAA - may be a better option.

I’m not saying Stingley will bust - but maybe riding with Hall and Echols with a full season under their belts and a PASH RUSH to go along may be the secret to a better defense. They both have played well and the CB position is the youngest on the team - Hall, Echols, Guidry, Carter, Pinnock, etc. add a seasoned FA to the room to bring experience not another 22 year old.

Did Gase make any contribution to JD's first draft? If yes that might explain why JD's second draft was better. It will be even better if Wilson pans out.
