    Tom Brady-QB-Patriots Nov. 11 - 10:23 am et

Tom Brady reportedly returned to Boston recently for a checkup by team doctors on his surgically repaired left knee.

The checkup reportedly confirmed that Brady is behind on his rehab because of a staph infection following surgery. If Brady continues to have complications it could jeopardize his 2009 season.

More importantly, this could jepordize the rest of his career. Two years away from the game, most of it spent rehabbing.

Could be looking at a very drastic decline, sort of like what happened with Culpepper. And with Cassel playing well, and most likely if he plays next year will be even better, one has to wonder if the job could even be handed back to brady.

Well, even if he never plays again, he is going into the Hall of Fame.

Not a great way to go out but his legacy won't be tarnished at least since he never had an opportunity to become bad.

Oh well, I was really looking forward to the Jets eventually overcoming him.

I'm by no means a patriot fan, but It is a shame to see a player like that go out on an injury. I don't think he comes back the same after this injury with any more complications. He'll always be worried about that knee; especially, if he takes to many hits in a game.

Plus he needs surgery on that "injured" shoulder of his that has been bothering him for years.

I hate Tom Brady as much as the next person and have always felt he was overrated. But with that being said, if he's out for 2009 or for his career it's big blow to the NFL.

I'll believe this when I see it. He has a notoriously huge work ethic. Don't count him out . . . There's a reason he's the best quarterback in the NFL when healthy.

Why? Because someone is having complications with surgery? That's a great reason to celebrate. Maybe you should go down to your local cancer ward and toast some dying people, too.

I've been saying this for weeks. He is in seriously bad shape. They don't even know yet whether the infection is under control. His career could be in jeopardy and all because he wanted to use his own doctors....one more fool to add to the long list.
