I think one of the happiest guys at the Scouting Combine this week will be Terry Bradway. You think: Didn't he get stripped of his job as Jets GM, and wasn't this demotion from GM to team consultant a slap in the face? Maybe, but look at it from Bradway's point of view: He had a year left, at about $900,000, on his contract. My understanding is that they extended the contract a year and he'll work at the pace he wants to work for the next two years and make the $900,000 total -- in a low-pressure, time-with-the-family way. Imagine having a normal, 40-hour-a-week job, if that, and making $450,000 per year. Nice golden parachute from the Jets http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/peter_king/02/19/mmqb/3.html What a great deal!!!!!! Bradway lives near Atlantic City,New Jersey
This doesn't seem to bother me for some reason. I always thought Bradway was a good person and wanted things to work, I just felt he was in over his head. Not a bad deal for him. Hopefully his scouting expertise will still be used by the new regime....
It doesn't bother me at all. He's a very very very good scout. He'll be on the road a lot checking out players. If he finds good players, he's worth it.
Let C he found us JV who at best is average. BT who is below average, our KO specialist Nuge who cannot KO, DeW who is another below average player, Santana who now is in DC. You consider that a good scorecard?
I don't disagree that he had a bad track record, but players that win DROY, then go to the pro-bowl the second year are hardly average. Don't post incorrect things to prove your argument. Give him Vilma, and even with Vilma he has a bad track record. Even a blind squirrel..........
JV ONLY went to the PB this year cause Thomas dropped out. All I am saying is he to date has not secured us a game breaking player. Sorry if your estimation of JV is far higher then mine. No body will ever mention him as they do LT or Butkus when JV retires
Two years, close to 300 tackles. A Defensive Rookie of the Year, A 2005 Pro-Bowler. One the BEST young Middle Linebackers in football...And is average? What? You're killin my Champ, this gimmick is old, Vilma average?
How often is a player gonna be lik Lawrence Taylor!? Are you expecting Ray Lewis or somethin!? He only went to the PB because Thomas dropped out... Tell me Champ, did he not deserve it more than Al Wilson? Vilma - 169 tackles, .5 sacks, 1 INT Wilson - 72 tackles, 3 sacks, 0 INTs How does someone with 97 MORE tackles not make it in ahead of Wilson?
Are you saying he IS NOT one of the Best YOUNG Middle Linebackers in the game today!? I never said he's Ray Lewis, Brian Urlacher, Zach Thomas, Dan Morgan, Donnie Edwards, James Farrior at all...But come on, he is only going to be entering his 3rd NFL season!
So there's no middle ground? He's either among the greatest defensive players in the entire history of professional football... or barely average?
Seriously, this guy has to get tired of his own act. Hey if you want to critsize Pennington, Bryan Thomas, BJ Askew, Dewayne Robertson, Justin McCareins, go right ahead, have at it. But to bash pretty much our brightest spot on the team the last two years and call him AVERAGE!? That's takin it a bit too far.
Middle ground is average not really good but not really bad, below average would be like what DeW or BT are
So you're saying the best player in the organization is barely better than Robertson and Thomas...Um:rofl2:
Nope & I do not consime alcoholic beverages either. He is just a avergae ball player. At the end of road he will be just another LBer that played for us & was nothing ever then just a average player. For sure there is no HOF plaque waiting for him
Just because he may be better then most of our players when putting him out there amongst all other LBers he will never excel or reach the HOF. You must judge players abilities on the entire league not just us
