I think Brady's rehab/ rehab results will be one of the most important factors in shaping the '09 AFC East race. With a healthy Brady I just don't see how the Pats don't win the division. If he's not healthy...well we could see a repeat of '08.

  2. You don't think they'll be an adjustment period for Brady after all that rehab? Now that another OC is gone?

W/ Moss at WR, BB at HC, and the veteran leadership on defense...the sky is always the limit for the Pats...but if you think Brady immediately returns to his "perfect" self...I think your expectations are alil unreasonable.

I don't think a new OC will make that huge a difference. In '05 Charlie Weis was gone for the first year, and he had arguably the best season of his career up to that point, and I think an arguement can be made that at that point he was much more reliant upon Weis than he ever was on McDaniels.

And I think people overrate the ACL injury. I know that sounds bullish and maybe homerish in this case. But Carson Palmer suffered a worse injury that Brady, later in the year in '05, then went on to have his best season in '06. Brady might not be in '07 form, but I would be willing to bet that if he's healthy enough to make it on to the field, he will be good enough. We see running backs and receivers recover from this injury and have a lot of sucess later on. A quarterback that wasn't very mobile to begin with shouldn't be affected that greatly unless he has some major issues with scar tissue stemming from the surgery/infection.

Smoke and mirrors. I have a source who says THAT medical source is Ed Norton from 'The Honeymooners'. You know, the episode where Ralph thinks he's dying and Norton has to pose as a Dr. to the insurance company when he finds out that he isn't. "Don't touch me, I'm sterile!" One of my favorites.
