Maybe the alcohol is talking right now, but hear me out. This win by the Giants and Superbowl, could be a blessing in disguise. 1. Rex Ryan and the entire Jets organization just had to witness the worst Superbowl a Jets fan could imagine. One in which we were no where near in partaking in this year. 2. The answer to the best team in New York, was just reinstated after this victory by the Giants. 3. Mark Sanchez had a chance to witness a QB who was in the same shoes as himself in his 3rd year, win his second title. 4. For all you Peyton lovers, maybe this is more of a reason for Peyton to join the Jets. Eli just surpassed him with Superbowl victories. He's going to want to win one immediately. Which better place to do it, then in New York, the same city his brother runs right now? I have a feeling the entire Jets organization is going to make this a "must" next year in producing a ring. But hey, haven't we been saying that every year? Wishful thinking again. Or maybe, it IS the alcohol
I do think Eli getting his second MVP has to eat at Peyton inside. No way hell ever admit but it just has to. And theres a 0% chance of him getting a superbowl mvp with the skins/fins/cards Not saying the Jets are his best choice because I dont know if they are, but those 3 main contenders have to all be looking like hot dog shit right now
Exactly my logic. The Jets are that one game away from a Superbowl title. He would also be playing in the same city as his brother, who owns New York right now. It makes it almost a match made in heaven. At least it gives Woody a pitch to throw at him if he is going after him.
Here's a scary thought for you to ponder. Woody Johnson now has to make some kind of splash to show that he's not sitting on his hands. Knowing that he's not gonna stand pat, I would be afraid of him wanting to do something like say, overpay for a certain veteran QB that used to play in the midwest.
I still think we are the "it" team in this town lucky run by a lucky team doesn't change culture of the city
Sorry but Peyton never had a beast 4 man rush. A moderate secondary. A decent run game. He carried his teams. the comparisons need to stop Peyton is better. And for a "win now" season. It gutted our depth and our cap situation is awful. Build through the draft.
There is no comparison in my mind. I never thought Eli was a better QB, even after this win. But, like you said, our depth sucks. Rebuild it in the draft and have a HOF QB, who might just have 4-5 more years left in him and what do you get? A SB team. That's IF he is 100% healthy. BIG IF
peyton doesn't seem like the person who would be the jealous type...hell he's said it b4 the eli will win multiple championships... it is the alcohol talking
tyree catch, that hail mary catch agains the packers the manningham catch? the rings mean nothing to me, giants just won the lotteries
You're no one's big brother, are you? And if you heard Eli talk about his brother before the game, you'd know that they're not just brothers, but friends as well.
totally agree...when brady who those championships he had a stellar defense...give that to peyton, he's got 5 rings now....peyton > eli
That's part of the game man. It took a team effort to be in those situations where those so called "lucky" plays came in effect. Calling a team with 4 rings lucky, while your team has 1, is ignorant.
Nice attitude , but we let way too much talent and rotation players walk or be picked up for pennies by other teams to be a dominate team next year. can we go far and be better then this year ? Yes we can !
Dominant, NO Successful, YES Look at the Giants. The patriots DOMINATED the entire season, but the Giants almost looked DESTINED to win this thing. Which they ended up doing. No team needs to be dominant anymore to win the thing. Look at the Packers this year for God's sake LOL
This a perfect climate for a Coup d'Peyton. Pull the trigger. I am tired of seeing the HS chick nailer / GQ model behind center, I want a real quarterback.
