First try at this but I did put some time into this watching film and and trying to be as realistic as possible. I think the youth movement is a good idea but it is unrealistic to sign 6 guys under the age of 26 and still be in good cap shape this year. It is time we mix in some veterans with our new young team. Cuts Sanchez saves 8.3 mil Holmes saves 8.25 mil Goodson (too much trouble can be replaced) Restructure Cro for 5mil a year for 3 years (15mil total) Resign Wilkerson 7 yrs 80.5 mil (11.5 per year) should be priority #1 Austin Howard 4 yrs 12 million Calvin Pace 2 years 5 million Ed Reed Vet Min (love his veteran presance) ------------------------------------------------------- Signings Dennis Pitta TE Golden Tate Wr Dexter McCluster Rb/wr/kr Donte Witner S Derek Anderson (back up qb may push Geno) Daryl Smith OLB -------------------------------------------------------- Draft Rd 1#18) Marquis Lee Wr USC-- best recieving option available and we need a number 1 wide reciever. You have the rounds labelled wrong which makes it kind of hard to read at first glance... As for the players, I dont love Lee, but I could live with the pick. Not a fan of Loston and think the 2nd round is too high for him. I love Beckham a lot, and doubt he makes it to the 3rd. You could probably switch Beckham and Loston and it would be a bit more realistic. My one problem with this offseason is that we added 4 WR's at or under 6'0. Tate is 5'10, McCluster is 5'8, Lee and Beckham are 6'0 and Kerley is 5'9. McCluster and Kerley would be great Slot players, but we would have 3 "complimentary" WR's in Tate, Lee and Beckham. Id ideally like to see someone with more size added (Benjamin, Adams, Robinson, Matthews), even though I like all of the players individually.
I'm a Big Lee fan, he was the top WR coming into the season and has only been knocked down the board due to bad QB play and some slight injuries. I think he is the best value at #18 assuming Watkins and Evans are off the board. TE could be an option in the 1st but I like Cumberlands potential and adding Pitta gives us a starting quality TE. Not too sure about Loston, which Saftey in the second round fits the tough physical in the box saftey that Rex loves, are there any?
would love to get Tate and Pitta. I doubt Beckham is there in the third. Not a fan of Jackson Jeffcoat but I'd be okay with Lee and Loston. Good work.
I like the Pitta signing as we need a legit TE and I like Tate but we need a WR with some size. I like the players you selected in your draft though, Lee could be a stud but I think you reach for Bitonio, he's good for depth but against better competition he's prone to struggle. I really like Jackson Jeffcoat, not sure if he makes it to the 4th, I think he could go anywhere between 2nd and 4th though.
