Tom Pelissero on X: "Legendary coach Bill Belichick and the #Patriots have mutually agreed he won’t return as head coach in 2024, sources tell me and @RapSheet. After 24 seasons and six Super Bowl rings together, Belichick and New England move on. https://t.co/NJrA5wnxUz" / X (twitter.com)
Now I'm not saying I want the Jets to go after him - but isn't it just like the Jets and their karma to have so many good/great/competent coaches become available in an offseason where they absolutely refuse to make a move when they have one of the worst staffs they've ever had? Obviously there's no way Belichick or Carroll would come here regardless, but it's just funny how karma waves a red flag in front of the Jets every chance it gets.
ESPN will be unwatchable for the rest of the week as they kiss his ass ESPN had Bruschi crying and ESPN2 had some guy dressed in a ratty hoodie in his honor. No thanks, I’ll watch something else
Wow I can't believe this day has come. What a relief that the Patriots are no longer a team to fear. Belichick is gone, the streak is losing streak is over.. I'll guess his next stop is Washington. Stays in the northeast. LA and Atlanta could make sense though too. If he thought the Jets ownership was a mess, I don't think he's going to Carolina. I'm curious if Vrabel comes back or if it's Mayo. Sounds like Mayo was next in line but Vrabel's surprise firing and waxing poetic about how great the Patriots organization is makes me think it could be him
One of my most memorable Belichick moments was when he showed up on the sideline of a game against the Cowboys looking like somebody beat the living shit out of him in the locker room. Nantz and Romo didn't mention it even once during the game. I think was a week or 2 after Steve Belichick was shown on the sideline looking like he had just slammed a giant rail of white. All I got. Fuck that guy.
Welcome Vrabel and whatever young stud QB they draft this year to haunt the JETS for the next 15 years....
Not to mention that next year when the Jets finally wise up and clean house, they will have a choice between the equivalent of a homeless bum and a kid fresh out of college.
Why would Bill Belichick, or any of these reputable available coaches, want to come to the New York Jets Organization? Has is ever occurred to anyone here that the reason that Robert Saleh is the head coach of the New York Jets is because the organization is incapable of convincing anyone better of taking the role because of their reputation?
Perhaps your reading comprehension is what's concerning. All you saw was Jets and Belichick in the same post and decided to go on the attack. Read the post again.
in what has become the single biggest offseason chance to rebuild and reshape your franchise for years to come with so many big names out there. we're stuck with baghdad bob and rodgers who has set this franchise back another 10 years.
I apologize if it came across that way. There is another thread called "New Coach" that expresses the sentiments I was referring to. In no way was I attempting to put words in your mouth. I apologize again if that was not clear.
Fair enough, that's a very humbling response. I apologize as well, and I'm embarrassed for going at you like that.
