Okay, here is the trade...ill give you both sides teams ( WR & RB only) so you can evaluate who got the better trade... Team A had: Steve Smith Terrell Owens Anquan Boldin Ronald Curry Dwayne Bowe Kevin Curtis Larry Johnson Fred Taylor Justin Fargas Team B had: Chad Johnson Jerricho Cotchery Joey Galloway Derrick Mason Shaun Alexander Travis Henry Adrian Peterson Brandon Jacobs Kevin Jones Jesse Chatman The Trade: Team A Gets: Shaun Alexander Adrian Peterson Jerricho Cotchery Team B Gets: Terrell Owens Larry Johnson Ronald Curry Now the Teams like as is: Team A ( updated) Steve Smith Anquan Boldin Jerricho Cotchery Kevin Curtis Dwayne Bowe Shaun Alexander Adrian Peterson Fred Taylor Justin Fargas Team B ( updated) Chad Johnson Terrell Owens Derrick Mason Joey Galloway Larry Johnson Travis Henry Brandon Jacobs Kevin Jones Jesse Chatman who gets the edge, and how close was it?
Starting Lineups now are as follows....in case it wasnt obvious TEAM A Steve Smith (WR) Jerricho Cotchery (WR) Anquan Boldin (WR) Adrian Peterson (RB) Shaun Alexander (RB) Kevin Curtis (flex) TEAM B Chad Johnson (WR) Terrell Owens (WR) Derrick Mason (WR) Larry Johnson (RB) Travis Henry (RB) Brandon Jacobs (Flex)
team b should sit tight the team looks fine why trade a. peterson and S. Alexander with henry's future up in the air? that is dumb team a wins out easy
Let's break this down. LJ is a better RB than Shaun BY FAR. Shaun is doing nothing and doesn't look like he's gonna rebound. He's startable but you'll never be comfortable with him. LJ, on the other hand, looks like he's back to being the #2 best RB. Then you have AP vs. TO. TO is one of the top 5 WRs. AP has been playing like a top 5 RB so far. I'll call this even. Curry and Cotchery are also equal. You can't depend on either guy but they are both capable of putting up a big game every so often. So the LJ over Shaun thing swings the trade largely in Team B's favor.
It looks like no one is going to like this trade for me....I was team B, and no im not insane...here was my motive... I had mutiple RB's, many that have been producing decent stats when playing... Jacobs and Jones are both healthy and can provide me with steady points. LJ is starting to come on, and I see him being much more of a threat then Alexander who has done absolutely nothing all year. AP has been great, but I needed a steady WR to complement Chad Johnson, so I see the TO and AP tradeoff as a pretty fair one. If Peterson keeps on running the way he is, and TO doesnt produce 10+TDs then I see this trade as a loss. I see my team as more stable with the additions of TO and LJ replacing AP and Alexander...Cotchery wasnt going to start on my team anyway...one TD on a team with the QB in limbo doesnt excite me much.... In case I didnt state it, I based this trade solely on a hunch, and time will tell whether or not im a genius or a goat...I just wanted to see what everyone thought...and im getting the response I expected.
OK, 5 RB's for 3 spots. I have: Westbrook (he's in) Jones-Drew @TB (he's qustionable on the injury report) F. Taylor @TB (depends on MJD's status-could get 10 or 25 carries) Selvin Young vs GB (Henry is a game-time dcision on monday night) M. Bennett vs Jac (not so much) Basically my problem is the injury report. If Henry doesn't play, Young could get big carries. Even if Henry does play, he might not get a full workload. I like MJD over Taylor, but Taylor is healthy. Will Taylor get more carries? Return yardage counts-will MJD return kicks if he's questionable? Help me Obi-wan Kenobi, you're my only hope... edit: very sorry. Wrong thread.
