All three of us are in the same paid league, so we're competing for some big money. It's a 12-team H2H PPR league. 1 PPR, 4 Passing TD, 6 Rush/Rec TD. Who has the better team? TommyGreen QB: Eli Manning RB: Jamaal Charles RB: LeSean McCoy RB/WR: Joseph Addai WR: Miles Austin WR: Michael Crabtree TE: Jermichael Finley D/ST: Cowboys K: Jay Feely Bench Ahmad Bradshaw (RB) Tim Hightower (RB) Derrick Mason (WR) Jabar Gaffney (WR) Jerricho Cotchery (WR) Dustin Keller (TE) Giants (D/ST) Jetfanmack QB: Tony Romo RB: Steven Jackson RB: Arian Foster RB/WR: Jeremy Maclin WR: Calvin Johnson WR: Steve Smith (Car) TE: Chris Cooley D/ST: Steelers K: David Buehler Bench Marion Barber (RB) Felix Jones (RB) Johnny Knox (WR) Devin Aromashodu (WR) Jason Snelling (RB) Tashard Choice (RB) Julian Edelman (WR) IgnatiusJReilly QB: Jay Cutler RB: Maurice Jones-Drew RB: Rashard Mendenhall RB/WR: Jahvid Best WR: Roddy White WR: Steve Smith (NYG) TE: Brent Celek D/ST: Broncos K: Neil Rackers Bench Fred Jackson (RB) Santonio Holmes (WR) Ben Roethlisberger (QB) Malcom Floyd (WR) Early Doucet (WR) Anthony Dixon (RB) Josh Morgan (WR)
Reilly!? REILLY!? 1st of all who is Stephen Jackson? 2nd of all did reilly drug you guys? Your team is horrendous and Mack's team is average. Reilly's team is pretty good.
Tommy, I am not being a dick on purpose here. You may have the worst team Ive ever seen. Seriously. Iggy has the best of you three but Ive fielded a better team than his every year for about 14 years. Your team is disasterous
Austin was Tommy's first pick. I think my team is pretty good. I got an elite QB, an elite RB, and an elite WR, with a lot of players with a lot of upside around them. I love my bench.
Once the Giants determine for good that Brandon Jacobs is not a good starter anymore, TommyGreen will have four starting RBs who are going to help him with receptions along with the rushing stats. Also, his 5th running back (Hightower) is going to have a nice reception total as well. Finley should be a better stat machine than Cooley or Celek this year. TommyGreen's WRs are good enough. Of course, all these teams will make moves during the season. All of them may turn over half their rosters by November.
Definitely gotta give the nod to Ignatius, but Jetfanmack has a solid team as well. Ignatius has amazing RBs, 2 solid WRs, and a potential breakout star in Floyd. This team has some sure fire producers, but doesn't necessarily have the highest upside. Jetfanmack is pretty solid all around, but you're right... your strength definitely lies in your bench. If you switch MJD and Steven Jackson I might actually prefer Jetfanmack's team, but I'm not so sure about Jackson this year. Also, I'd probably put Felix into the flex spot instead of Maclin. Tommygreen just has too many unknowns on his team, but there is potential there. If Bradshaw, Crabtree, and McCoy all breakout this year, and Charles gets the carries he deserves in KC, this team could be dangerous. Definitely some young stars here, and Finley could be a monster. Ignis>Jet>Tommy
I realize I took a few gambles, but all my WRs are #1s, and my Running Backs are going to get plenty of catches. Every year I draft the big names and get burned when they don't produce. I chose a different route. I'll admit that it's not the best team on paper, but a few of you did see the potential. Thinking outside of the box. We'll see what happens.
You really should have put everything in context. We had someone re-join the league this year. He watches football all day every Sunday in season, and this is what he came up with. Keep in mind, this is how HE set his lineup after the draft: QB Tom Brady, NE QB [Recent News] RB Clinton Portis, Was RB RB Derrick Ward, TB RB RB/WR Nate Washington, Ten WR WR Pierre Garcon, Ind WR WR Steve Breaston, Ari WR TE Kevin Boss, NYG TE D/ST Packers D/ST, GB D/ST K Sebastian Janikowski, Oak K Bench DeAngelo Williams, Car RB Bench Shonn Greene, NYJ RB Bench Tony Gonzalez, Atl TE Bench Darren Sproles, SD RB Bench Carson Palmer, Cin QB Bench Jacoby Jones, Hou WR Bench Legedu Naanee, SD WR
I thought Tommy reached on a few players early (Austin at 9, Charles early round 2), but both have the ability to be studs in this scheme. I would have just gone with safer players high (which I did). What Tommy did that I like was draft some safe players late like Hightower and Mason who will put up solid numbers, but not be flashy. My team, I mean, I got a 2nd tier quarterback, a star runningback who will get 350 touches and be consistent most weeks. Calvin Johnson has the ability to run this league, and last year was his floor. I picked him over Roddy because this league also rewards long TDs, which Calvin will get more of I believe. I like his chances for a big year this year. Steve Smith from Carolina is the #1 target and a very good player. Then Foster, Maclin, Barber, Jones, Knox, Aromashadu, and even Snelling and Edelman have scenarios in which they can be fantasy stars. Foster in particular is the clear #1 back in a great offense, he has upside out the ass. Cooley isn't a great tight end, but he seems to have held off Fred Davis, and he and McNabb have developed a good rapport. Iggy's team is damn good, too. You can say it's better than mine because of Drew. But I'm hoping some of my players break out and I can make some early trades. Last year, I ended up with Schaub-CJ-Rice-Mendenhall-Randy Moss-Ochocinco-Celek. I didn't even make the championship...
I may be the exception here but I was going to say that Tommy had the best team until I saw Iggy's roster. Steven Jackson is injury prone and plays on a very bad team. I wouldn't feel too comfortable taking him where he is projected. Jamal Charles and Miles Austin are both young guys with huge upside that closed last year with big numbers. Addai scored a lot of TDs last year as well. Also, its all about the starters. It doesn't matter who is on your bench if they never see the field. While depth is nice for bye weeks, there are no bye weeks during the playoffs.
To back Tommy, McCoy and Charles will get a lot of dump passes. At a point per reception and a passing TD at 4 points... an elite QB isn't that important. Austin shouldn't be a first round pick... but Charles in a PPR league could be.
haha I still love you. Ive tried your method once or twice in leagues that I didnt have too much invested in money and time-wise. Too hard to catch lightning in a bottle 3 or 4 times. Doesnt happen. Fantasy is about the givens dude. You want to draft as many money guys who you know year in and year out are putting up the numbers.
