I'm missing the "Ben Graham Reports" that TBJ used to do.

How's he going so far this year ?

I see he's 26th on the punters list, doesnt sound so good.
The stats I can understand read..

    40 punts.....1729yds.....1496net
    long of 62.....43.2 ave
    15 inside 20
    2 touchbacks

can someone enlighten me on these stats & what there all about....

    OOB
    Dn
    FC
    Ret
    Ret Y

I know talkin' about the Punter "is not cool" so if ya dont want to .....thats OK. ( I know someone will help )

    cheers.

Out of bounds - he punted it out of bounds
Downed - no return, the return man took a knee
Fair Catch - same as above but he waved his hand to signify he would not be returning the punt
Returned Punt - the return man attempted to return the kick for yardage or a score
Return Yards - the number of yards the return man got

And I'll let someone else break down his performance, I have been focusing on the defense in most of the games.

I've been very disappointed with Ben Graham's performance.

Call me a phillistine, but I appreciate a good punt. I rarely tune out when BG kicks it away on 4th and I've rarely been impressed this year. His hangtime is unimpressive, as is his range in general, he downright shanks some kicks and he doesn't consistently down balls inside the ten, which should be his specialty with that Aussie Knuckler. Consistently good downfield coverage from Wallace Wright has covered up some of these blemishes. (Wright is worth his ST weight in gold, if you ask me).

He'll pick it up, though. The Meadowlands suck.

Downed means the kicking team downed the ball and the returner never touches the ball, not him taking a knee.

He was crap today. I actually stayed home from work until half time to watch the Jets. But by then it was all over. He seems very inconsistent.
One thing I did notice is he kicked a drop punt on his first punt and forced a fair catch inside the 20, which is all you can ask. However he seemed to shank the punts he needed to kick long. Us Aussie know how easy it is to shank a spiral.

There was one great punt that should have been downed at the 1 yard line but the coverage guys had a little retarded fuckup and stuffed it.

It seems his consistency has dropped way off. It's the 1 or 2 bad punts that cost the team and everyone remembers, not the 4 or 5 adequate or good punts.

It seems like he's not coming up with the big punts when the Jets really need him to get off a booming kick. Its not exactly the worst of the team's problems though.

Graham's performance has dropped off markedly this year - he's had many mediocre punts, and in every game he seems to have one or two absolute stinkers. To be honest, I expect him to be cut after the season is over.

Hopefully that won't drive away the Aussie posters!

I think he has sucked most of the year. If we need a long kick, he shanks it, if we need to pin them, he boots it. I thought Mangini was going to play people based on their performance. We should have brought in a punter 6 weeks ago and at least put pressure on him. Another thing to bitch about
