Whose the better defensive football coach, Belicheck or Mangini ? I say Belichek, he is a proven genius. Mangini is a work in progress.

Who's creates a better 3-4 defense.........Belichek or Mangini ? Again my answer is Bellichek.

Is Mangini is trying to create a 3-4 defense in a non-traditional mold ?

Is there anyone in the world who would seriously claim that right now Mangini is better than Belichick? Mangini is probably a better head coach now than Belichick was after one year. That's it. In any other comparison Belichick blows Mangini out of the water.

Belichick record of quitting a head coach job after one day will never be matched.

Belichick hands down. You can't argue with Superbowl rings. But, competing against the Pats will only make Mangini a better coach in my opinion.

Wow – what a horrible thread…I can’t wait for the season to finally start.

Who’s a better quarterback…Vince Young or Tom Brady?

a lot of hard feelings still, over that situation with some jets fans. as i see it, parcels made a deal before hand with bill b. to give him the reins when he stepped down from the coaching position, and then broke that promise by taking the front office position and not relinguishing the authority he had promised BB. so BB refused to take the position with parcels still pulling the strings. who can really blame him if you look at it in a fair light. parcels was the first to break the promise, hense, bb owes him nothing!!! there was a chapter about this very subject in bb's last book, and i tend to believe bb's version. parcels has never actually denied it either!

as far as the better coach, it's laughable to even try to compare a one year wonder with an established 3 time super bowl winner that is presently reguarded as one of the best ever!!!!

Belichick wanted to be the head coach with no GM above him? If he didn't want to work under Parcells why did he stay with Parcells as his DC for so many years? Did Kraft offer him the same money he got from the Jets or did he offer him more? Sounds like he left for more money. When he went to NE did he have a GM above him? If Belichick had said that he didn't want to be the Jets head coach would they have offered him the job? The only reason he was the head coach was because he was offered the job and accepted it but then left when he was offered more money by NE.

No need for the first part, I'm thinking. Although Ghidra vs. Rhodan, now we're talking.

    Inconclusive!

We don't know yet about Mangini's defense...Right now it's easily Belichick.

WOW... Just when you think you've read it all.. I agree with a couple posts from above that Mangini is better at this point when Billy was at the same point back with the Browns, and that playing the team from up north twice a year will make him a better coach in the long run.. One thing that would concern me if I were a Jet fan is during the playoff game against the Pats Mangini atleast to me didn't throw any new defenses at T. Brady.. He did the same D that they used that time when they won in Foxboro.. Did he think Beli wasn't going to prepare for that? Cmon.. But in the long run he'll do alright for the Jets..

as stated above, that agreement was made a couple years prior to parcels leaving.

this is exactly what i mean about jets fans having hard feeling with belicheck, they are misinformed of the true facts. go back and reread history of this subject, and you'll see parcels tried to pull a fast one on bb by taking the gm job and not passing all the authority on down to bb when, he (parcels) was to step down and leave the jets organization. parcels was not supposed to stay and keep running the jets organization, as was the agreement the two had made years prior. bill belichek has a couple of books out that some might want to read. it's interesting reading and you get a different perspective to what was to have happened, and what actually did happen..
if things had gone according to the original agreement, bb would have stayed with the jets as coach/gm and we jets fans would possibly be looking at the three lombardy trophies. i have read a lot on how things went down with parcels,bb and the jets, and bb is taking blame for what should be parcels double dealings... as i said, had things gone down as agreed to, bb would still be with the jets!!!!! f**k parcels

Belichick may be a genius, but Mangini is the Mangenius. No offense to our "chick" readers, but I'll take the Mangenius over the plain boring genius any day. :)

I'll take Mangini by a safety, and in a couple of years I'll up it to a field goal.
