I don't know anything about him. Sounds interesting. Anybody know if he's a turd? http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-chris-williams-the-odd-man-out-for-bears-ol/
It seems unlikely that Williams is going to actually leave Chicago as he's at least a reasonable backup player, but maybe Tannenbaum would trade a first for him ... As the article says,
I love Bills fans making fun of Rex and tannenbaum while the dynamic duo of Nix and gailey continues to fail year after year. B/c you overpaid for a good, not great, pass rusher this offseason doesn't mean you are headed to the playoffs for the first time this century.
1M and decent and experience @ 4/5 positions on the OL. Not gonna be easy to acquire. With such a low salary, I'd expect the Bears to just sit on him just in case there's an injury during the season.
The Bears were apparently interested in Otah at the time we traded for him. They can't be too impressed with this guy, so I don't see why we would be.
Don't know much about him but FWIW according to PFF, this guy is really, really bad. Like worse than Wayne Hunter bad.
Worst than Hunter, damn it seems the first few articles I read on him are totally off. When last season ended, I would've bet money that the Jets would bring in somebody to seriously challenge for the RT spot. Instead, it's only been somebody incapable of even passing a physical. If Sanchez ever went down, it's gonna be WFH protecting the qb blind side (assuming Tebow is the backup).
The Bears Oline has been one of the worst in football for the last couple years. If you can't make it there, you can't make it anywhere.
Everybody must realize that the Jets absolutely botched any chance they had at improving at that RT position. They're done with it, there aren't just tackles sitting out there right now waiting to be picked up so they can LOCK DOWN the right side of our line.
Hit the nail right on the head. That line got Cutler killed last season. All you need to do is watch the Monday night game against Detroit and see how badly they were ravaged. I'm surprised Cutler could walk after the first half.
Feeling a little bit pissy this am are we, Junc ol' boy? Buddy Nix didn't waste a fourth round pick acquiring a would-be WC QB/HB/STer. Tannenbaum did, so he's fair game. If Ryan encouraged him in this, then he deserves to be laughed at, too. Hell, Brad Smith is a decent QB compared to Tebow, and the Bills got him as a FA! QFT.
yeah, a 4th rd pick for a playmaker is a huge mistake. Didn't Buddy pay 15 million to Brad Smith? much like Aaron maybin Brad our CS was able to make a player more productive here than your CS could in Buffalo. We didn't trade for Tebow to be a QB, this is what the jealous, bitter div rival fans don't understand. As bad a reg QB as Tebow is he has helped a team to postseason and win a playoff game which is 1 more playoff win than the Bills from 1996-current.
Tannenbaum traded for Tebow to primarily to put asses in the seats -- and divert attention from the Gnats. He also likely guaranteed that Sanchez goes down the toilet this season, too, by failing to fill that void at RT named Wayne Hunter but maybe Tony Sparano will sprinkly some pixie dust over Wayne and improve him.
This isn't orchard park, NY where they don't sell out w/ $40 tickets. he brought Tebow in here b/c he can help us win and he will. We didn't give $100 mil to a good, not great, pass rusher to make a big splash in the media.
