It looks as though Kevan Barlow's time as a Jet may be over sooner than anyone thought. http://www.newsday.com/sports/footb...97306dec01,0,6696272.story?coll=ny-jets-print http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/story/476073p-400504c.html http://www.nj.com/sports/ledger/index.ssf?/base/sports-0/116495134492490.xml&coll=1
I'm sure this is just a motivating tactic. Just like that time Mangini said he was starting Cotchery to motivate McCareins.
I highly doubt they are going to cut Barlow during the season or in the offseason. Not after giving away a draft pick, a 4th rounder wasn't it? They will probably bring someone in (draft or FA) and he will be 3 or 4 on the depth chart after they release Blaylock. But I would lay odds that he will be a Jet next year.
Sorry I didn't mean they cut him , I meant that I doubt we will see him again playing regularly. I would still prefer to see him on goal line situations than any of the other backs though
I'm glad Barlow might be on his way out. Wasn't really happy with the move to acquire him in the first place. I am impressed with the way he's handled the situation, though. I figured him to be the type to bitch and whine about it in front of the media. I don't know how much he's getting paid, but I'm sure it isn't cheap. There's no reason to keep paying him only to run in goal line situations.
Remember when I said before the NE game that that was the exact type of game a guy like Barlow would thrive in? What Happened? Exactly. Funny how the upcoming game in GB is almost the exact type of game and I was thinking it would be another "Barlow Style" game. No way if there is a little snow and bad weather we can eliminate Barlow.
I agree! I don't understand why Mangini wouldn't look to use the guy who performed great in the muddy sandbox up at Foxboro. TBTF
Was the draft pick the Jets gave up for Barlow conditional? I never saw good details on the deal so I don't know if it was a 4th round pick or a pick that could turn into a 4th round pick based on certain milestones being reached.
Good thing Washington and Houstan will be the ones sharing the carries. Washington needs his carries. He once and a while gets break out runs.
