Report: 'Bama to make huge offer to Saban The University of Alabama plans on offering its head coaching job to Nick Saban in the next few days, according to a report in the Palm Beach Post. The paper reported the contract will more than double what Saban is currently guaranteed as head coach of the Miami Dolphins (about $15 million left on his contract). It would make him the highest-paid coach in college football. The report said the overall deal, including coach's shows, endorsements, camps and other outside income, could be worth from $40-$50 million and would include a $5 million signing bonus. The length of the contract is uncertain. If Saban does not take the Alabama job, it is believed Alabama will quickly target University of Louisville coach Bobby Petrino, the paper said.
