We all have "fond" memories of bad Jets' draft picks, but can you recall an instance when the Jets signed a free agent, and you just KNEW it was a bad idea??
Nah, I loved his attitude and was happy with the signing as well. What about biggest non-signing; remember the whole Reggie White show? We wined and dined him, the papers were going nuts, then he left us at the alter. Uugh....
Tom Nutten - he left quickly! My least favorite has to be Damien Robinson. Herm wanted DRob to come in and be a leader, and he was anything but a leader. First the incident when he brought rifles and ammo into the Meadowlands parking lot after 9/11. I was shocked that Herm didn't suspend him for the game (one of the issues that got me down on Herm). Then DRob almost cost us the game in New Orleans when he tried to hog tie Kyle Turley with his own helmet. I also agree with Eric Green and Steve Atwater. Green was oft injured and didn't play up to his talent. Atwater was finished when we signed him.
Damien Robinson got one of the WORST roughing the kicker penalties I have EVER seen in that atrocious loss to Dallas 2 years ago.
How about Rick Mirer? I don't know if he was signed as a FA, but he was bad. I remember we had a bye week and Parcells said he was going to put Mirer through a two week QB school because Mirer was stinking up the joint. We had a home game and I remember Fred Baxter was WIDE OPEN over the middle on third down and Mirer threw it 10 yards over his head. It was the worst throw I ever saw and I remember turning to my friend and saying that's the last pass he's ever going to throw as a NYJ. Thankfully, I was right.
YEAH! Cutis Conway! That was Bradway's INGENIUS answer for replacing Coles! This moron couldn't catch a beachball smothered in crazy glue. God he sucked cow cock!
