    I think Mangini is going to start experimenting with players in the backfield and I think the end result will surprise all of us... here is my early prediction:

    #1 RB BJ Askew (20+ carries per game)
    #2 RB Cedric Houston (3rd & Short)
    #3 RB Leon Washington (3rd Down Passing)

    #1 FB Jamar Martin (Blocking)
    #2 FB Stacey Tutt (Receiving)

    Blaylock = GONE
    Hartigan = Practice Squad

    Trades = NONE... with Sproles getting hurt, we don't have a shot at Michael Turner. And with C-PO and Kerry Carter getting hurt, Washington won't part with Ladell Betts. Chris Brown may still be a possibility, but only if LenDale stops acting like a tit. They may want to keep Brown and Henry, in case LenDale gets suspended for being and idiot.

    Askew is gonna be the guy?

    What makes you think that?

    I better make one thing clear before I get ripped... I am not pretending to know any more than any of you, about football or Jets rumors. This is just speculation driven by a lack of interest in participating in the doom and gloom threads.

    Now...

    I think Askew came into the league as a RB. He was held out of practice yesterday, and Mangini has started using Tutt at FB in the last couple of practices on top of us signing Jamar Martin. Something tells me Tutt will make our team, as a pass catching FB. We don't need two of those, plus a 3rd FB for blocking. Askew is more of a pure runner. The reason I say he starts at RB over Cedric is because Askew has spent the last couple seasons playing FB, meaning (in theory) he would be MUCH better in pass protection. If he can pound the ball and pass protect, I see them converting him.

    Just trying to connect the dots, in my squirrelly mind it makes dollars... not cents!

    Yea, it'll certainly be an adventure this year at rb.. but why the big "gone" next to Blaylock? Of all the backs on the roster he's the only one who's shown he can actually play at an NFL level. Yea he had a bad year last year but he didn't get any playing time from Herm for the start of the year and he was hurt for the remainder. He's still the same guy who had a good year subbing in for Priest Holmes two years ago. It wouldn't make any sense to cut Blaylock at this point.

    Down on first contact... if he keeps that up, he is gone... if we have the space to carry 4 RBs and 2 FBs and put Curtis on IR then he stays, it all depends on what they do with C Mart.

    Askew came into the leagues as a fullback. He played some RB in college his Junior year, because the other RBs were hurt. He filled in and ran really well that year at Michigan.

    I can't really see Askew being a Mangini type player.. Wasn't he to soft for Herm??

    Askew as the number 1 RB? Yuck. What does he run like a 4.6 maybe? No Thanks.
