@RapSheet The @NFL has suspended #Jets TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins for 2 games, they announced. This is for his DUI Our stellar off season continues.
People keep talking about the Jets needing to get a TE, but Jenkins was pretty productive in TB. He could be the answer at the position. Obviously being suspended does not help his cause, but it was expected.
Well, a TE joining a new offense in the middle of the season and that offense being run by Chan Gailey, no shock he was lost. He looked like he was picking it up down the stretch but the team was a complete mess. I have hope for him in 2017.
Agreed he's 24 and has the goods ..he needs to keep his nose clean and focus. He's on the last year of his rookie contract and will be an unrestricted free agent in 18'. We might be able to retain him for cheap and add some depth on Day 2/3 of the draft.
my words-context+sarcasm=? But no seriously, I'm not saying to avoid TE. I think bringing in a cheap vet is necessary and drafting TE 3rd round or later is a good idea. Just not in the 1st, and certainly not at #6.
Can't wait to see him next season, all fat from boozing it up for 6 months, thighs bouncing off each other trying to run a seam. It'll be like Madea Plays Tight End.
Anybody note why we didn't make a run at Martellus Bennett? He signed for not a lot with the Pack, and I think a security blanket like him would be valuable for a developing QB (we are going to have one of those SOMETIME, right? Right?) Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
This is a complete non-story, non-issue. This stems from a DUI from last September before he was released by the Bucs and the Jets signed him. They knew it was coming.
