It'd be pretty foolish for them to trade him; I can't believe there's much to this rumor at all. They have a very good trio of LBs right now in Boley, Brooking and Demorrio, no reason to mess that up.
Usually Im not one to criticize size, but Im wondering how Vilma and Williams would both fit in a 3-4
They can afford it with the emergence of Michael Boley. Personally, I like Boley more. Some fans are in love with Williams and some with Boley. We have a small log jam at linebacker with 5 right now. Brooking, Hartwell, Boley, Williams, and Jordan Beck (or 3rd pick last year who was hurt early on)
Here you go! Plays with adequate leverage and flashes the ability to stun blockers at the point of attack. Has the athletic ability to slip blocks in space, takes good angles to the ball and has the range to make plays from sideline-to-sideline. Plays with a non-stop motor and always seems to be around the ball at the end of the play. Breaks down in space, wraps upon contact and is a reliable open field tackler. However, Williams is undersized and he lacks ideal power. Gets engulfed by offensive linemen and is vulnerable to wearing down when teams consistently run at him. Doesn't have the lower body strength to anchor at the point of attack, lacks the upper body strength to shed blocks quickly and has to be on the move to be effective defending the run.
Year - Tckl - Sacks - Int 2004 - 56 - 2.5 - 0 2005 - 127 - 3 - 2 I think I could live with adding this to the Jets (never happen though).
he's better than anyone we could get in the late first round, right now anyways the falcons 1st might be a different story though
