I was just curious who went to the Lions game? I was seating like ten rows from the top in section 316. Man, I have to say it seemed like a rough crowd to me that day. Walking into gate B, there was huge back up, because of this guy in a leather jacket and way too tight pants. He's arguiong with the security, and NJ PD comes by. My friends and I are like dam, were gonna miss the kick return (yes we did. ), and then bam, I see the cop is holding like an eightball of coke. Man, that guy just got screwed with a felony. Why not just leave it in the car. Anyways, did anyone also see the huge fight under the jumbo TV? It was pretty crazy. Guy was getting kicked down about 3 rows of seat before twenty secuirty guys showed up and broke it up. Anyways I had agreat time at the game. I tell you, I always feel so much better when the jets win.
That was about 5 rows behind MM and myself... All of a sudden F-Bombs are being dropped along with every other word...This like mid-30's Jets fan and some 17-18 year old kid, not sure if he was a Jets or Lions fan, but his girlfriend had a Martin jersey...Then the kid SPITS at the guy and the guy jumps down and swings at him, barely connects and they fall a row down where the other kid starts stomping on the Jets fan pretty hard. We weren't even paying attention to the game, I was just laughing... Some shots were exchanged, the kid who was stomping didn't get touched, he's a girl. Then security came and the kid tried to keep punching but then got slammed down by the security...Was then escorted out. I started a "Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey GOOOODBYE." Pretty funny and the talk of the section for like 5 minutes.
Saw it. The guy kept trying to get out of the grasp ot the yellow jacket the whole way down, as they often do. .
That's one thing I don't miss about going the the Jets game....went to the Jacksonville game three ago and sat about 5 rows back in the corner of the endzone where Jacksonville blocked the punt. It was really rough, thank God I decided not to wear my Vilma jersey to the game. My friends and I sneaked out before the 3rd qtr. ended. Saw quite a few fights going on.
I've shared this b4, but hey. My wife and I went to our first Jets game ever (O'Donnel was QB) at Buffalo. I had my Jet gear on, and she had her Giants gear on. Of course we were taking incoming jaw flapping, but at one point the bitch behind us dumped beer on my wife's head. Mistake. HUGE mistake. Now my wife is 5'4 and weighs maybe 100 pound wet, but she is 100% full blooded Irish. She instantly whirled one row up and just POUNDED the fat bitch into submittion. Her husband was next to her and didn't know what to do. About a minute later I looked behind me and two yellow jackets where helping the fat bitch up and escorting her and her husband away for their safety. She was all shaking and bleeding. haha the whole section was nearly silent for what seemed like forever. Then some younger Jet fans that were sitting about 10 rows above us (I didn't even know they were there) started throwing shit at the Bills fans sitting around us calling them pussys. Now that part was REALLY funny.
All of these stories remind me of why I don't go to football games anymore especially when the Jets are the visiting team. There's always a loudmouth or two around and then you wind up having to defend yourself and risk getting tossed or even being arrested (especially wearing the road team's colors). With all the money you dish out in the first place, you have to wonder at some point if it's worth it.....
From 128 we saw the guy getting dragged down the stairs by security. Nothing tops the old New Jersey Generals games for fighting, though. They would draw about 40,000, so there was enough room for people to move around, and you had a younger, drunker crowd. Plus the games weren't as interesting, so the focus was on the fights and the yellow Event Staff jackets swarming everywhere to try and keep order.
I can remember some good fights in the crowds at the nassau coliseum when the Rangers played. Always seemed like more Ranger fans than Islanders.
