Kind of strange timing but you can't argue with a 73 year old who has decided to take a lesser role. GM of a rebuilding team is an arduous job. I hope he's in good health and enjoys the new role as much as he clearly enjoyed the old one.

How is the timing strange? The new scouting year begins next week. This is the time front office decisions are made each offseason.

It's been a foregone conclusion that the senile GM would step down in favor of a younger, inept general manager for awhile now.

Haha right, because he really didn't add quality players to the roster during his time. Ok.

True. The Mark Anderson signing was huge.

Nix seems like a guy, God bless him and all that good stuff, who has gotten to a point where the game has passed him by. The offseason prank call might have been the final straw. He seemed like, with Al Davis gone, possibly the most senile official in the league. He was defeated by two teenagers and a cell phone. Not the guy I want running my multi-billion dollar franchise.

Can you explain how the "game has passed him by?"

How was the offseason call any big deal?

Mark got hurt and missed the year last year. Have you never had a player get hurt on the pats? I guess it was a terrible signing because he got hurt the first year? What are you even talking about?

The Bills have won, what... 16 games in the three full seasons he's been GM? If you want to give him credit for collecting talent that's fine, but the results of that have been no better than any of his predecessors.

Did you hear the audio associated with the prank call? You're going to sit there and tell me that Nix didn't sound like a crazy old man during the entire thing? And doesn't it seem a little disturbing that a couple of kids were able to pull that off on him? It was an embarrassing moment for your team to have the General Manager be so easily dicked around like that by kids who were just screwing with him. Sorry but that's the truth.

Anderson played in 5 games last season and had one sack. He's basically "just another guy" who's had two good seasons during his career. And the Bills threw a ton of money at him because one of them was 2011. They paid top-line money - I think it was around $20M over four years - to a mediocre role player who racked up 10 mostly scheme-related sacks the prior season. He didn't even start in NE or play every down. Situational pass rusher.

Since when is $4 million "top-line money" especially when they can cut him at any time and be done with it? But I couldn't care less about Anderson.

And no, Nix didn't sound "like a crazy old man." What about that call had him sounding "crazy?" They called to see if we wanted to trade for LeGarrette Blount, Arrelious Benn, or Jamon Meredith. Buddy called back and said no, we are trying to acquire picks not give any away (looking to trade down for a QB). Then he said all teams need a great QB to be good, that this was a bad year to need one, and that we didnt want to pay Fitz's salary to be a backup. Tell me, what in that conversation was something you didn't already know was true?
