We will get a good/decent shut down corner AND we would be taking away from our rivals. I am personally really high on Clements, and I think Asante is a bit overrated. I also would not mind drafting a CB, but I dont know what value would be there around our picks. I think this is a fairly important need for us this offseason. I think we have MUCH more important needs, but this is a need too none the less. Which one of these guys to you believe would best fit our 3-4 defensive scheme? I dont follow either toooo much, but I know they both can hold their own. Discuss....
Tuff decision on both these guys.....i think Mangini would want Samuel cause of the NE days....they are both good....I think asante is the more phyical one, both are gonna get big $$.....i'll go wit Asante
Reading the comments by Tannenbaum and the articles it seems unlikely the Jets will go after either of these two. But i've been on the Samuel bandwagon since mid-season and would love to have him opposite Dyson. And their wouldn't be an overpay in his case because Mangini coached him and I think he would know if he wants a player such as him or not.
I would go with Samuel but I think his 10 INTs are going to inflated his contract and Tanny won't go for that.
agreed. i've been clamoring for Samuel for a while too. i think he's a perfect fit and can teach the younger guys in the Secondary how to play in this system but like someone else said, he had 10 INT's this year, which is probably the worst thing that could have happened to us. cheers
I would go with Clement he's got a couple more years experience, but that would stir things up for Miller, who I was hoping could make the starting line up on a consistent basis.
I'd go with Asante because he already knows the system....if it's a choice between either then that's the smart move.
Nate is flat out the better cover guy and probably a better tackler. in fact Nate is a better cb than samuel.this not a bad thing cause i would take samuel with open arms but its between the two nate easily.
i'd go with clements. I think samuel is overrated. Those 10 picks were right to him. I think clements is not only a better player, but i think he'll be cheaper
i doubt he'll be cheaper.....he's gonna demand big money.... really depends on who signs first will set the bar
they're both gonna command big bucks. they are both better than average corners. also, i highly doubt samuel's 10 picks were right at him. not from the 4 or 5 i've seen when pats were televised nationally.
Samuel is garbage. The guy almost lost his starting job to a rookie last offseason and he's been average/below average since he's been in the NFL expect for this season. I dont even think he's better than Andre Dyson. Clements on the other hand is a COMPLETE corner. He's the real deal. Terrific vs the run and great in coverage. Great tackler, great ball skills, great playmaker. Samuel is overrated. Terribly overrated.
Tough decision. On the one hand Mangini personally coached Samuels and the guy did have 10 INTs last season. On the other hand, he appears to be one-dimensional, and Clements has been more consistent with both INTs and blocks. I'd have to go with... whoever's cheaper.
i think the bills frachised nate last year and promised not to do it this year.....dont know it that was in the contract or what.....samuels i dont think he has ever been.....
the bills franchised Clements already twice i believe. they're not allowed to franchise him again (according to the new CBA deal i believe)
