    On your List....Muhammad Wilkerson DE.

Akeem Ayers and Martez Wilson would be 2 players I would strongly consider.

Phil Taylor, Allen Bailey and Brooks Reed aren't Rd 1 talents, at this point.

I love Reed but can't see us reaching for him in Rd 1...in early March.

You think Ayers will really be around at 30?! Thats kind of surprising. Would Wilson play OLB for us cause if not he would be a pointless selection in round 1.

Did you follow the combine the last few days???

Ayers ran terrible and stock is falling into late rd 1.

What people tend to forget about Wilson, he played OLB before he had a herniated disk in his back and was out for almost the entire 2009 season.

Wilson's athletic ability and good size he could play 3-4 OLB. Many have compared Martez Wilson to a poor man's Simeon Rice. I think Wilson could add 10 pounds to bulk up to 260 and not lose much quickness.

IMO, he may have been playing out of postion at ILB at Illinois. Tez penetrates gaps and is in the backfield very quickly. Didn't get many sacks but made numerous plays in the backfield. Has good coverage skills to handle most NFL TEs.

    The best pass rusher available

Though the more and more I watch of Rahim Moore, the more I like

    Already been said, Tez Wilson.

    But off the choices, Houston...

I voted for Rahim Moore. I know im going to be in the minority here, but I think Rex Ryans scheme would be much more effective if we had a play making blue chip safety.

Another reason why I voted for Moore is because I believe with the depth this years draft has with pass rushers, we could take moore in the first then trade back up into the 2nd round using Brad smith and some a later round pick to get up into the second round.

Tanny always says Quality over Quantity, so I see him living by his word and make 3-4 quality picks.

Round 1: Rahim Moore- S UCLA
Round 2(via trade): Brooks Reed- OLB Arizona
Round 4:Ian Williams- DT Notre Dame
Round 6: Jeff Maehl- WR Oregon

  9. Ideally, I'd love to have a stud rush OLB w/ some closing speed...but given the names provided I like Liuget. Liuget has a wide base to anchor in the 5 technique stuff...and can provide the interior penetration in the pass rush that we missed after Jenkins went down.

I think he's an underrated prospect who could be a good one.

I'm liking Martez Wilson more and more. I'm not a fan of Ayers. I don't think the Jets should take anyone that slow. That's part of their problem on D as it is. ATM Wilkerson is the only guy on the list that I like or think will fall to us. I'm not sold on Sheard yet. I don't like Bailey at all. I think he will bust. Houston and Liuget will be gone by #30. Phil Taylor may be just a workout warrior, physical specimen, but doesn't have the ideal production to merit being taken in the first round. If the Jets are looking for an NT, I hope they're thinking about Powe, Kenrick Ellis, or maybe Sione Fua in the middle rounds.

I voted for Brooks Reed, not because I think he merits a 1st round selection or because I want the Jets to reach for him, but because I hope they will trade down into the second round, garner an additional 3rd round pick and take Reed and then perhaps be able to grab Jarvis Jenkins with the earlier 3rd they pick up in the trade down. The only problem is, I can't imagine there being some player at 30 that some team would be so desperate for that they'd trade up for him. I know it could happen, but things like that don't happen for the Jets often, particularly with Tanny's proclivity for trading in the opposite direction.

Ayers isn't slow. He just didn't time well.

I hate it when fans right very good, productive players off because they don't look good in shorts and a t-shirt.

Watch the kid play and then tell me that he's slow.

    ^ you meant write

I agree. I like but don't love Ayers. There is a technique to running the 40, and if you don't do that correctly everyone is going to think you're slow.

The tape doesn't show he runs a 4.8. I'll go with my eyes that say he runs anywhere from 4.58-4.64 on the field, which is right where he should be.

My answer remains unchanged. If Jabaal Sheard is there, take him at 30.

Justin Houston, though trading down still looks like the best option to me

Fair point. I'm not really writing anyone off at this point that could be available when the Jets pick and possibly help the Jets. I just haven't had time to watch much film yet and shouldn't have let the 40 time unduly influence me.

I voted Wilkerson this go around.
That's a lean, mobile 315 with great wing span.... i need to watch some more tape on him.

Also getting sold on Tez Wilson from what i've been reading and watching.

I can't get on the Tez Wilson bandwagon, I just can't. I will never get on the Sheard bandwagon.

This is my list, in order...

    Wilkerson
    Heyward
    Ayers
    Houston
    Moore

I would be happy with anyone of those players.

I laughed my ass off when everyone started shitting on Anquan Boldin when he ran in the 4.7's at the combine.

Ayers is a "football player" and people forget how much of a compliment it actually is when people start drooling over measurables. WITHOUT PADS mind you.

he has a good nose for the ball. would just like to see him come off blocks a bit faster
