    Consider me shocked...

    BREAKING NEWS

The Oakland A's announce that they have fired manager Ken Macha after four seasons and two playoff appearances, including 2006, when they reached the ALCS before being swept by Detroit.

Remember, they almost canned him after last season.
He has had some problems dealing with players. Maybe Billy Beane got into it with him this season, as well.

It's not all that surprising really. Keep in mind, most Yankees fans were calling for Torre's head a week ago, and he's actually won titles with us.

When you get swept, regardless of the team you are facing, you are looking at trouble. Now, with Zito about to take off, the A's are going to have some problems. They beat out the Angels this year, but is it realistic to believe it will happen again next year?

Yeah it's still realistic, look at the pitching staff. Haren, Harden, Blanton, Loiuza. Their lineup can only get better with Chavez, Crosby, Swisher. The bottom line is that the A's are always going to be tough because of their rotation.

Will we see the day when Billy Beane actually decides to move down to the dugout and manage this team already?

With Billy Beane at the helm, the A's will always be competitive.
