Its the holiday season once again when a lot of us, particularly Jet fans seeking escape, go to the movies to watch scripted entertainment that you don't have to take a second mortgage out to see. "Arrival".. Well, it kinda left me empty tbh. Not a lot of action, special effects, plot, nada. What you see in the trailers are the best scenes in the movie.. Verdict? - pass or wait for the DVD (pass on the BR)

I liked it. I thought it was pretty good. My wife actually loved it. It is more of a "thinking man's" sci-fi instead of action and cool stuff like that.
Definitely not going to watch it with the wife. She likes the cheesy action movies like San Andreas and The Day After Tomorrow. She thinks too much at work, when we go to movies it's all about mindless fun, with a pretzel and a soda. How was Amy Adams? It looks an expanded version of her character in Man of Steel, or Jodie Fosters character in Contact.
I loved it, my wife thought it was strange. I need to rewatch it to completely get everything and how the story was set up. I love movies like this and Dennis Villeavuex is one of my favorite directors (See Sicario and Prisoners)
