Before we panic -- look at "the league surprise" St Louis -- 4-1? They are much better than us? They are having a great season and we are not?
WAIT...St Louis beat -- in close close games --- AZ, Det, GB.

AND NO -- they have 3 wins against -- CLE, GB and TB.

SO...before we panic -- we all know who is coming up -- I dont think we are good enough to win all three -- but we should be 4-4 going into the bye.

    No.

We're a 7 or 8 win team with a bit of luck, maybe 9 at the outside or 6 with some very bad luck.

We have no NT to speak of in a 3-4 defense and we're playing an amateur at one of the CB positions. They can fix the Miller mistake by starting one of the other defensive backs but we're stuck with no NT for the moment.

We do have Rashad Moore, who is very good when he plays, but you are right.

I'm disappointed that Mangini hasn't incorporated more 4-3 this year. New England had what seemed to be no nose tackle for a year or two as well, but they had solid guys who knew what their job was and they did fine. They also had bigger linebackers, putting less emphasis on the NT. Robertson is undisciplined at the 3-4, and he gets taken out of the play way too often, leaving open a hole and a guard to go leadblock a linebacker for 6 yards and a cloud of dust.

I read a report that suggested most of the 2nd half v Indy was spent in the 4-3?

Looked that way to me as well.

I just don't understand why it HAS to be 3-4 or HAS to 4-3 , mix it up , it can't be that hard.
If neither work , go with a nickel D

i think were good enough to get peterson this year.. Seriously though i think we just got exposed teams know now they wont have to blitz us and be aggresive.. just sit back on the timiing routes and our passing game will be shot..as our running game already is.

Looks like we will have to come up with more ingenious trick plays. I agree with the above , but come up against Baltimore ( I know thats extreme) and they will do both and 41-0 will start to look OK.

I'm not bothered too much about our record this season , honestley. Mangini has made a difference already and I like what I've seen on the good days. On the bad days its glaringly obvious that come next season we will see some wholesale changes on both sides of the ball and I don't think anyone will be exempt from being shown the door.

The point is that the Saints and the Rams are 4-1 because of their schedules. The jets are 2-3 -- losing to three playoff teams. No surprise there. If we want to see if there is any real improvement -- well see the next three games. If we are a decent team -- we must at least win 2. I think Miami may be the worst of the three teams we play.

That has nothing to do with Miller being unable to tackle a guy in the flats if his life depended on it. And he's getting beat like a drum even on the quick timing patterns that are unrushable.

YOu mean the Saints are better because they have beaten 3 bad teams -- as have the Rams??

Lets see how we do against the bad teams in the next three weeks.

The Jets are about the 20th team in the league right now.

There are seven teams that are just clearly worse: Detroit, Arizona, Tennessee, Houston, Oakland Green Bay and Buffalo. It was pretty clear these teams were worse right from the get-go and they haven't done anything to dispel that perception.

Then you have four teams that are worse than the Jets but in the ballpark: San Francisco, Miami, Tampa Bay and Cleveland.

Everybody else in the league is above the Jets at this point, although many of those teams are likely to need rebuilding in the next year or two (Pittsburgh, Kansas City, St Louis, Philadelphia and Washington are all in that group) and the Jets will likely hop them during that process.

If you'd told me a year ago that the Jets would move from 30th to 20th in the first rebuilding year I'd have been a happy camper.

I think out of the next three -- Detroit is the best one -- they have been in most of the games and like yesterday, just fell apart.

I think there is no excuse not to beat the dolphins at home.
