Everyone fears the pats based on their history. and lets face it it's ridiculous as the bets dynasty ever in the NFL. In the past 18 years bellichick and brady have 9 SB appearances and 6 SB wins. That's insane. They still have those 2 players but if you look at their 2019 it's not very impressive

Week 1 - The blew out the steelers. that's when people thought the steelers would be good which made the pat hype start. the issue is ben had a bum elbow and wound up on IR the following week, and they are badly hurt with no AB and no Bell. that team has shed a lot of talent on offense and it shows. they are currently 2-4

Week 2 - vs the fins - easily the worst team in the NFL. they aren't even trying. huge blow out. they are currently 0-5

Week 3 vs jets - jets with a 3rd string QB in falk who couldn't move the ball. jets with falk are easily a bottom 3 team in the NFL. currently 1-4. 0-3 without sam

Week 4 vs bills - arguable the only real team they faced. they won barely 16-10. they were held to 3 points in the 2nd half. josh allen threw a bunch of ill advised picks like he's known to do and got knocked out of the game. he might have still broght them back and won if not for getting knocked out

Week 5 vs skins - easily the 2nd worst team in the NFL. huge blowout. they are currently 1-5

Week 6 - vs giants - awful team, no defense, missing all their offensive players (shepard, engram, barkley) and a rookie QB who people laughed at them for drafting 6th overall. they are currently 2-4

Overall out of the pats 6 wins, 5 of the teams they played are a combined 6-22. they got lucky with other teams having key injuries to skill positions either in game or the week before the game. Seems they are more lucky then good this year and as sam said, like every team in the NFL, they are beatable

Absolutely not. They had really challenging wins against the dolphins, Jets, redskins, and Giants. Talk about strength of schedule. The Pats have faced some BRUTUAL teams.

It is absolutely unheard of to pull off wins against the likes of Fitzpatrick, Falk, Keenum, and Daniel Jones. Don’t even get me started on the phenom known as Josh Allen.

Its almost as if the NFL gives the pats a easy, cushy schedule at the beginning of the year so they can stockpile some easy wins.

eh nobody thought the steelers or jets would be bad and that's 2 out of their 1st 3 games. the fins and bills are division opponents so that's always part of the early schedule (we played the pats and fins) only "easy" non expected game would be the redskins at the time they were making the schedule

This has been a big part of it over the last 18 years as the Jets, Bills, Dolphins have looked like the Moe, Larry, Curly of the NFL. I think that is changing now. The Bills are becoming a good team. Brandon Beane(GM) and Sean McDermott(HC) have done a good job there. The Jets despite a 1-4 record have a potential franchise QB to build around and a GM who has a reputation for being a good evaluator in acquiring talent. I am not sold on Gase though. The Bills and Jets are heading in right direction and maybe one day Miami will rejoin the NFL but that won't be anytime soon.

No, this is likely a 15-1/16-0 team even if Brady plays below his standards.

yeah if allen pans out for them the bills will be a legit team. the jets are on the cusp darnold is a beast already. we have a few holes that need plugging but we aren't far off from being a playoff team at all. could be one in 2020 barring any crazy injuries if JD has a good offseason. the pats are the pats and will be good until B and B retire. the fins are going to be awful for quite some time. best case maybe 4-5 years from now they can be good.

    Yes

    over rated

    but

they will still win it all

    You know why?

because they don’t rest and are never satisfied

    they always adapt and plot

and the AFC sucks so all they need to do is win 1 neutral site game with best coach and best QB and best defense

not hard path for another super bowl

    onto 2020.........

No, they are not overrated. Although their competition has been very soft, their defense is playing like it did during their postseason run. Very, very good defense.

How many times in their history have the Jets laid eggs against a bad team/ 'easy' team on their schedule?

The Pats take care of business week in & week out that's why they are who they are.

People like to say they own the AFC East which is true to explain their dominance but the fact of the matter is they own the entire NFL.

No they're not overrated. The Jets better bring their A+++++++ game on Sunday to have a chance at the W and that still might not be enough to pull out the W.

A lot of good points in here, but how many times has this question been asked? How many times have people said "New England is overrated" or "Brady is done"?

I don't buy it. They may have played shitty teams, but year after year they prove they are not done. A mixture of luck and great coaching/players, continues to make them a force in this league.

I suspect right before playoff time, they will magically start healing and suddenly have a healthy roster going into the playoffs. It happens constantly.

I'm done calling them overrated or saying Brady is done.

How can anyone say that Bellichick and Brady are overrated? I can't stand that they've dominated the Jets - and all of football for the most part - for almost twenty years, but denying their greatness doesn't make it so. "You are what your record says you are". Are the Cheatriots overrated? Check their record.

And just to be clear, yes, they cheat, which I despise, and I wish it could be proven and all their hardware taken away, but they've figured out how to get away with it, in large part with the help of the NFL who love how they drive up ratings. So, until they've been caught and their hardware stripped, they get to own it.

As for this game, there are two huge obstacles facing the Jets:

    1. The SOJ way they always seem to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
    2. The Patriots ability (with much help from the refs) ability to always seem to pull out a win.

Winning isn't impossible, but it's the next closest thing. Covering the point spread might be the closest they get to winning.

I didn't say those 2 are overrated , i said the 2019 pats as a whole. yes they are 6-0 but in the same way the jets have has some really bad luck, the pats have had the perfect storm of good luck. they haven't really been tested and even the bill gave them a run for their money and the giants were pretty dam close to until the end. I'm just saying they really haven't been tested yet. They do get credit for going out and beating teams they should beat. thats good coaching but it's not like they beat out the saints, chiefs, niners etc to get that record.
