Posting this because I think the site is great and a useful tool for anyone looking for reasonably priced, professional design work. It's a for-profit site, though. I don't own the business and not my intention to do their advertising. I'll flag it for Petro and CMan and take it down if it's crossing a line. Some of you may have used this. Arcbazar.com is a site where you post a design project and deposit a sum of money you're willing to pay for it. Designers then submit proposed designs, which get judged and ranked. First, second and third winning designs split the cash. I've done it a few times. A couple years ago, I put up $650 for a landscape design of my front yard (N.B. to Dierking). Also needed some concept designs for a proposal I was putting together. I paid $350 and got a ton of quality graphics. I was posting a new project and started leafing through some of the recent design contests. Pretty interesting stuff. A medical marijuana dispensary. A floating island on a barge called "The Breakwater" in Chicago. The Obama Presidential Library.
Why do I give a fuck about your front yard? Unless you have a corral of piggies working their way through your discarded domestics, why in the world is that interesting to me? And while were on it, what kind of brie and chablis pansy hires a fucking landscape architect to water his goddamn grass? Sheesh. Make America great again. Please. For the children.
That is some visionary architecture, thanks for posting it. Although the Obama Library's floorplan should look more like
