Apparently, Wayne Chrebet didn't have a productive career after being undrafted

I guess that is the case...You'd think they'd say that.

If it was all players to ever play in the NFL, Wayne is top 10.

I don't know about that, I don't think he's even top 10 on the list of current players.

Chrebet is extremely overrated simply because he's a white Jersey Italiano and a shrimp. He's impossible not to root for because of his toughness and his every-man look. The fact of the matter is the guy only had one career 1,000 yard season, and after 2000, he never caught more than 60 balls again.

Thats a interesting list. Lots of offensive players. It seems like qb,wr,rb are postion you can grab later in the draft or pick up free agents

Did he not set the record for most receptions in a player's first three seasons? I remember hearing about this back in the day.

Chrebet was not overrated. At least not nationally. He had great hands, great determination, and great productivity, especially on third downs. His first 5 seasons were awesome. His last 5 were plagued by injuries because of the way he played.

Sorry for the lack of clarity, but if you're from the area, you know what I mean. There are ninety million guidos running around that look EXACTLY like Chrebet, and identify with guys that look like that. Some of them are jewish, some of them are irish, but they all think they're in the mob. That's where the "italiano" came from.

Maybe it was a record back in the day,but ,off the top of my head,I know at least Randy Moss,Boldin, and Holt had more catches in their first 3 seasons. Chrebet was the man, though,he was a pit bull.

Was he an elite reciever? Absolutely not, but he came to play every Sunday and came up with a lot of big plays for this team (although that fumble a few years ago against the Bears still pisses me off). Considering he came in as an undrafted free agent, I would definitely say he was not overrated.

Chrebet still holds the record for most receptions during a player's first 2 seasons. Chrebet was underutilized later in his career, that's why his production dropped off.
